Title: Moroccan Royal family - another set of brigands!
Post by: Ruhi_Rose on July 12, 2008, 04:19:33 am
The present King Mohammed the 6th of Morocco married Salma Benani in 2001 (or maybe 2002).  She too is Moroccan and belongs to the ancient town of Fez.  She is now called 'Lalla' Salma.  Lalla in Arabic means either lady or princess.  Morocco's never had a queen.  They never give that title to the king's wife.   "Lalla" Salma is supposed to be the first female in this position who has been allowed to play a public role .. a little bit so to say.  And she's said to be a commoner and a computer engineer prior to her marriage.  King Mohammed's father, late King Hassan (died 1999) who married 'Lalla' Latifah, never allowed her to come in public.  Few people in Morocco ever even saw her nor knew how exactly she looked.  Allowing 'Lalla' Salma to play a teeny weeny bit of public role is actually her husband's cunning plot.  His father ruled with an iron fist and brought no reforms.  This present King seems to be much the same.  There have been calls for a more democratic system from various quarters of the country.  So, to give a superficial window dressing to his rule, he's decided to allow his wife to be seen in public now and then .... receiving some insignificant royals of other countries and participating in a few humanitarian conferences more for promoting diplomacy between first ladies of African countries.  This way, the clever King is trying to dupe his subjects into thinking that Morocco has become "modern."

Wedding photo of King Mohammed and his bride, now 'princess' (or lalla) Salma.  Majority of the Moroccan people were hanging a face rather than smiling on the day of their King's wedding.  The wedding was yet another show of extravagance while the common Moroccans keep getting deprived of a decent standard of life.  This royal family is reported to have more than a dozen palaces all over Morocco.  They've broken the records of many a cheats around the world.

Moroccan King with his new born daughter.  He had a son a few years earlier - the future thief of Morocco who's yet to be tutored how to live on the taxpayer's money and more!

Morocco is said to be one of the very poor countries of the world with a staggeringly high unemployment rate.  But the Lalla's wardrobe is primarily designed by Chanel, Dior, Jean Paul Gauthier, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Prada and the largest houses of haute couture.  Her shoes are manufactured on order at Massaro or Fratelli Rossetti or Hogan. Her jewels come from Cartier, Chaumet, Piaget, Van Cleef.  Her perfumes are from Maison Guerlain, Yves Saint Laurent or Patou.

Aw! shit!!  when will our so-called Muslims learn to behave themselves ..

Said to be wearing a diamond belt.  No wonder her father-in-law survived 5 coup attempts.

Hey guys, can anyone write a bit on the history of this mind boggling royal family that swims in jewels while their country is doused in poverty?

Yeah sure  teethsmile

Well, the only complimentary thing one can say about Morocco's royal rule is that at least it wasn't set up by the Brits, Europeans or Americans like the one in Jordan. But that's about all.

Morocco has been infested with dynasties and dynasty rules since the 8th century or earlier.  The present royal family of King Mohammed is called the Allaouite dynasty.  Before this, there were several more.  The Alaouite dynasty came into power in 1669 .... the longest monarchy to reign.  This dynasty has also had some very cruel kings in the past.  One of them is Ismail of Meknes  (http://www.economicexpert.com/a/Ismail:of:Morocco.html) .. a terrible guy.  Morocco became a French colony in the 1800s and was given independence in the 1950s.  King Hasan the 2nd, father of the present king of Morocco, Mohammed the 6th, came to power in 1961.  He was pretty autocratic.  It is said that he survived 5 or 6 coup attempts by the army.  He died in 1999 of natural causes and that's when his eldest son, Mohammed the 6th succeeded him and became king.

The Moroccon royal family is supposed to be the richest family in Morocco.  It is said that they own one-third of the lands in the country and have shares in numerous businesses.

As far as I know, the term "lalla" means lady, not princess.  The king's wife is not just denied the title of queen, but is also not supposed to walk beside the king.  She is required to walk about 8 to 10 feet behind.  The male title equivalent of "lalla" is "moulay."  Don't know what it means literally but both titles sound somewhat funny.

You are right in suggesting that allowing his wife to be seen in public is the King's trick to convince his people of "modernization."  The reality is very different.  The system of govt is almost as autocratic today as it was 500 years ago.

Another deviation from the finiky Moroccan royal culture - Madam Salam (or lalla Salma, whoever she is) comes from a very middle class family.  Her father is (or was) a school teacher in Fez.  I once saw the photos of the neighbourhood she lived in before marriage.  It was a very average locality, not at all the kind of place from where one would expect a conventional king to pick his bride.  It is also a top secret as to how he met a commoner like her.

Interesting thread.  Frankly, I don't know why monarchies are still permitted to exist in this 21st century.  The very concept on which a monarchy is established is so unIslamic, unjust, decadent and outdated.

That's what everyone has been saying since long.  The moment you type the words "king of morocco" on google, it will immediately give you the search code "king of morocco is gay."   LOL !!  what a shitty shame.  It's supposed to be hush-hush information in Morocco because the guy is a corrupt dictator too, and gay relations being strictly prohibited, the king's sordid past is a tabooed conversation.  Nonetheless people still keep talking.

All these Arab monarchs have a disgusting past and present.  Moral / financial corruption and tyranny are their steady hallmarks.

This gay king's father, king Hasan of Morocco died in 1999 after iron-fist rule of 38 yrs - one of the world's most ruthless despots and traitor, lover of the Zionist state.  Late king Hussein of Jordan, a notorious womanizer and thief.  His slave-of-America son, Abdullah II present king of Jordan also famous for debauchery during his crown pirnce days and now for unprecedented corruption stealing his country blind alongside his wife - secretly known as bonnie & clyde of Jordan.  Abdullah of Saudi Arabia (http://criticalppp.com/archives/31049), another disgraceful womanizer & douche bag and the disgrace runs throughout his ancestral link.  The entire Saud family has at least 8,000 members, each with the title of prince or princess, all of whom being above the law.  They can get away with anything - murder, theft, physical abuse, drunkenness - just name it, while a common man or woman gets the death penalty for the smallest of offences.   Check those 2 recent stories on the drunken Saudi princess (http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/index.php?topic=3107.0) harassing her Brit bodyguard and the killer Saudi prince, a gay abuser. (http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/index.php?topic=2752.0)  Of course these two  incidents of shame and debauchery are just a drop in the ocean.  To monitor all of their crimes one needs to write a book of daily chronicles.

This allegedly gay king of Morocco, Sidi Mohamed, is also a Zionist lover like his tyrant late dad.  He's literally being ruled by the crypto Jews of Morocco who have direct links with the Israeli Zions.  His official adviser & confidant is a Moroccan Zionist Jew.  Disgusting.  The Jordanian and Moroccan monarchies are surviving only because of Israeli protection.  They are hated by their people.  All that talk that these kings are helping the poor is nonsense and Zionist propaganda.

Pathetic!

As I've always maintained .... just as racism and slavery are obsolete in the 20th century onward, so is monarchy.  I don't know how an era can talk big about "democracy" and "peoples' rule" while also accept 'kingdoms' with such a straight face.  Isn't that the most glaring oxymoron one can think of?

Another deviation from the finiky Moroccan royal culture - Madam Salam (or lalla Salma, whoever she is) comes from a very middle class family.  Her father is (or was) a school teacher in Fez.  I once saw the photos of the neighbourhood she lived in before marriage.  It was a very average locality, not at all the kind of place from where one would expect a conventional king to pick his bride.  It is also a top secret as to how he met a commoner like her.

This can be taken as a positive gesture for abolishing class distinctions in relation to "royals" (I hate that term) unlike the glaring social status awareness that exists among the Saudi kufar.  However, corruption can run just as much in commoners as it can in the rich, depending on how much opportunity they get.  This commoner the alleged gay king has married has proven to be the most solid example of greed, avarice and materialism, shamelessly taking advantage of her husband's position.
