Hurricane Ike Survivors Force to Share Shelter With Adult Lion

Texas: A group of survivors taking shelter from the fury of Hurricane Ike in a church near Galveston found themselves confronted with a danger of a different kind when they were joined by a zoo owner who had been trying to drive a lion to safety.

Nobody was eaten overnight and the lion reportedly remained calm throughout the ordeal. "They worked pretty well together, actually. When you have to swim, the lion doesn't care about eating nobody," said Michael Ray Kujawa, who owns the large cat.

Others outside were not so lucky. The official death toll from the hurricane stands at 48 with fears that more casualties have been washed out to sea.

lol - these poor hurricane survivors must have been in for some real tough luck.  hurricane makin them homeless was bad enough, they had to also come face to face with a lion in their shelter.
