Reflections on the Noble Quran

"Be ye faithful servants of the Lord by virtue of your constant teaching of the Scripture and of your constant study thereof."  3:79

If you read the preceding line of verse 3:79, Allah Almighty is confirming to us that Jesus son of virgin Mary NEVER told the people to become his slave by taking him as God.  Instead Jesus told his followers as stated in verse 3:79, that they must be faithful servants of Allah alone by teaching the Divine Scripture to others.  And in order to teach the Scripture to others, we must constantly keep studying it ourselves.  As Muslims, we would know why Allah said that.  In the Quran there's so much to learn.  Each time you read it, you discover several new important information which you realize you had not picked up in your previous reading.  Thus, when Allah appreciates our efforts and sincere devotion to His Message, He keeps clearing our vision and grants us greater understanding which diminishes all confusions.  In other words, He keeps bestowing His guidance upon us as our love for Him grows in our hearts.  And no doubt, the highest form of guidance is a good understanding of the Noble Quran, when we are able to expel confusion by studying and following the Quran in the right perspective.  Only then can we be capable of teaching it to others.  Therefore, the reading or study of the Quran is not a one-time thing.  It's meant to be a life-long practice.  Each time to finish reading from start to finish, start again.

As we know, the Hadith has distracted Muslims much from the Noble Quran.  Most of us only read the Quran during Ramadan, that too in haste as a ritual, without thinking and reflecting upon what we read.   Please know, this type of study is not what Allah means in the above verse.
