Reflections on the Glorious Quran

The Noble Quran is not meant to be taken on the basis of "blind faith" as many may think.  Allah Almighty does not expect us to do that.  This is the view of those lazy ones who read the Quran as a ritual without thinking over its contents, who depend on their imams and "saints" to seek the explanations of the Quran instead of contemplating themselves, and accept whatever incorrect substance is fed to them by these imams and "saints."  But Allah wants us to understand and think over every bit of His Message as we read it.  This helps to establish a direct contact between Allah and ourselves, it helps us to understand the wonders of Allah and subsequently helps to strengthen our trust and faith in Him.

Thus, Allah says in His Most Noble Message:

"(This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect."  38:29  Surah Saad.

Absolutely.  Allah (Subhanu Wa'Tala) expects us to grasp the meanings in the Quran by using our faculty of reason & reflection.  Your observation is right that many Muslims ignore this aspect even though Allah has repeated it in the Quran several times.  And verses like the one quoted above are also a clear instruction from Allah not to follow the imams and "scholars" with blind faith.

SubhanAllah, what a breath of fresh air.  Actually even few of those traditionalists who are wiser than the lot accept this fact.  In this regard I would request our readers to go through the article titled "Investigation Before Belief" (http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/index.php?topic=3501.0) by Sheikh Safdar Razi.
