Title: Superiority of the human species over other species (Surah Saad) Post by: Zainab_M on November 16, 2010, 03:39:56 am BismEm Reflections on the Glorious Quran "He said: O Iblis! What hindereth thee from falling prostrate before that which I have created with both My hands ? Art thou too proud or art thou of the high exalted ?" 38:75 Surah Saad The expression "both My hands" is interpreted by Pickhall as referring to humans beings created "with both the glorious and terrific attributes of Allah, whereas the angels were created of only one class of attributes." This infers to the human status of being 'ashraful makhluqat' as in Arabic, meaning intellectually highest of all the earthly species created by Allah. This aspect of being 'ashraful makhluqat' as bestowed on humans is primarily the God-given human ability to think & reflect and the ability to choose their path of conduct, whether to be obedient or disobedient to the commands of Allah. As ordained by Allah, the angels have the ability only to obey Him.
