Title: Are Jews really the preferred people?
Post by: Ruhi_Rose on December 12, 2011, 07:48:19 am
 BismEm

The answer is NO.

"O Children of Israel! Remember My favour wherewith I favoured you and how I preferred you to (all) creatures."   (2:47)  Al-Baqrah.

Many non-Muslims and even some unthinking Muslims misunderstand this verse as the Jews being the preferred people.  But that is not at all correct.  The reference in this verse is to all of Allah's favors granted to the Israelis by Allah mainly during the Exodus for saving them from Pharoah's tyranny and getting them over successfully to a safer land.  It does NOT refer to the Israelis being chosen as the preferred people unconditionally nor being preferred forever.  Allah's favors can only be earned by good spiritual & practical conduct and this rule stands firm for all.
