In Surah Al-Baqra, verse 143, Allah (Subhanu Wa'Tala) says "Thus We have appointed you a middle nation, that ye may be witnesses against mankind, and that the messenger may be a witness against you. ..." How would you interpret the term "middle nation?" Title: Re: Muslims a "Middle Nation" Post by: Zainab_M on March 18, 2007, 05:05:26 am To my understanding, "middle nation" means being in between the Days of Ignorance and extreme modernity .. that is, a nation coming after the Jahilya era and before advanced liberal era. It could also be a hint on adhering to moderation by a nation that can perceive the shortcomings of the earlier days and the later times alike. And Allah knows best. Thanks brother. wsalam |
