Title: becoming a member to gain knowledge
Post by: Özcan on July 20, 2012, 09:38:01 pm
Salaam,

I'm from Turkey (but living in the EU), I have always had difficulty accepting certain aspects of traditional Islam. While I don't reject sunnah entirely (because the prophet was our role model), I only accept things that;

1) do not conflict with any verses in the Qur'an

2) are already mentioned in the Qur'an

For example, I don't believe in the "mahdi" or that prophet Jesus will return because I don't see any evidence in the Qur'an for these claims. Same with "dajjal" or Anti-Christ. I believe that Allah has clearly mentioned everthing that matters to us in the Qur'an and that he wouldn't omit any important issues, such as the "return of Jesus". I hope I have made myself clear insha'Allah and sorry for my flawed english. I hope I can become a member because I just want to read and learn, that's all.

Walaikum Salaam, Ozcan.  Thank you for using our guestbook.  I understand you.

At Muslim Villa, we take the Sunnah from the Quran.   That's because the Sunnah must come from the Quran because the Prophet (pbuh) taught us whatever the Quran taught him.  We do not recognize the "sunnah" that comes from the Hadith collections which largely clash with Quranic information.  We do not recognize the Hadith to be the words of our Prophet (pbuh).  Rather we look upon them as forgeries by the narrators and compilers.

I am confirming your registration.  I hope you have read our forum introduction (http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/index.php?topic=4.0) and rules (http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/index.php?topic=6.0).  If not, kindly do read them.

Welcome to our forum.  I hope you find it helpful for acquiring knowledge.

Thank you Heba. Yes, the prophet only knew the Qur'an, he was a walking Qur'an.

May I ask where you guys gained your knowledge about the 'true' Islam? Websites, books, or both? :)

Thank God in Turkey we have enough Islamic scholars who have published excellent books about how Islam was totally distorted, I'm currently reading some of those.

wasalam

Wa'salaam brother Ozcan.  Reading the Quran with full concentration, then reflecting and contemplating upon its verses told us that the Ummah today is walking on a very different path than commanded by Allah Almighty in His Final Message.  Thus, we began our research and endless efforts in our quest for truth.  The foundation of our Faith (as elucidated by Allah Almighty) is --  the Noble Quran is the Sole Criterion for judgment of right and wrong -- Therefore, no matter how many impressive diplomas a "scholar" or "ulema" might have, if they say something that contradicts Quranic information or Quranic principles, we reject their claims. We have been browsing and reading a lot, but we don't take our information from any of those sources.  When one is searching for truth, it's very difficult (if not impossible) to find it 'tailor-made' in a single venue.  Our reading and browsing help us to discover & discern the tricks and causes for the distortions we see today in our beautiful Faith.  We then compile our observations and share them with our readers here.
