I am aware that I can like any individual post with a comment on my Facebook account but I do not see any icon or Button "like us on Facebook"for Muslim Villa itself.Is there any way to like http://muslimvilla.smfforfree.com/ on my Facebook account? Until a year ago, we had the Facebook 'like' button for Muslim Villa on top of the page next to the Twitter button which is still there. But it affected the browsing and made it much slower. Also took a much longer time for every MV page to load after a click. After consultation with the forum service provider, they advised me it would be better to remove that FB button which was affecting the browsing speed. They were apparently right. After removing it, browsing became faster. But I also regret it as it attracted greater traffic to this site. I've been debating ever since whether or not to put it up again but the fear of the same problem arising again dissuades me. However, I'll speak the forum service provider again and inquire if there's a simpler widget that would not affect the browsing.
The FB 'like' button you see at the end of every post is a default one. It will enable you to share that specific post only, not the entire forum. Title: Re: Like us on Facebook? Actually the problem is not membership but to have the right kind of membership who won't trash the board with ugly talk just because they wrongly consider Quran-alone followers as "deviants." That's why we made this into a read-only forum and only selected members are chosen for contributing their writeups after a detailed intro. In the past for almost 4 years we had a very difficult time with both Hadithists and followers of Rashid Khalifa group spewing their own different kinds of misguidance and spoiling the atmosphere of our forum. That kind of misguided posts can misrepresent MV's Quran-alone ideology of truth to our guest readers. That's why we thought it's better for people to read and learn of the truth we put on the table, and discussions can only be carried out with selected intelligent members. Otherwise we only ended up wasting our time. Despite putting up the notification on top that membership isn't accepted without detailed introduction, every week we get at least 20 sign-ups without introduction. These are usually the Hadith following members who want to come and fight. Many of them also come up with bad ID's like "danger," "no Islam without hadith," "Muslim Villa kafir" etc. etc. We delete them immediately. Title: Re: Like us on Facebook?
