Title: Islam & Ego
Post by: MurtezaAFG on January 14, 2014, 05:13:42 pm
As Salaamu Alaikum.

This video spoke to me because while Nouman Ali Khan, I saw what he was saying in myself.
The hardest enemy to fight is yourself because Shaitan whispers to you in your own voice.
Often times I let my ego get the better of me without even realizing it and I am sure that others have this problem too.
Please watch this video and let me know what you guys think!

I don't know too much about him.  Only read some brief quotes from him in Tumblr.  Not being in the Hadith business with a very different bent of mind, I've more or less given up expecting too much compatibility with mainstream speakers.  However, everyone of them do say certain things that are right and true .. and truth is always a very positive gesture no matter who says it.

InshAllah I'll watch it later as I'm short to time at the moment and it's quite a long video.

I do agree that one's own self can be one's most formidable enemy.  It reminds me of a lecture I watched of an American revert brother.  He mentioned no matter how strong your opponents are, they can never succeed in misguiding or deviating you, if your Faith within yourself is firm.  What can deviate you is your own heart.  Correct.  Human weaknesses dwell within themselves and worldly distractions take advantage of their vulnerability.  The Noble Quran confirms exactly the same, that Shaitaan tempts only those who make a friend of him.
