Title: Noble Quran does NOT imply that sky can fall like a roof

BismEm

"And He withholds the sky lest it falls on the earth except by His permission"  22:65.  (Corpus Quran translation word by word).

Concerning Verse 22:65, you will come across lots of jeers, leers, smirks, sniggers and smugs from the despicable world of atheists and polytheists to soothe their restless hearts into accepting their intentional misinterpretation of this Verse.  When the kuffar know they have gone too far down the abandoned road and are a lost cause, they go in an all out offensive displaying the ugliest forms of Satanic rebellion.

It goes without saying that Verse 22:65 does not mean the sky as a whole falling like some concrete slab.  Sky is not a concrete object.  It's the earthly view of the vast atmosphere above.  Do you think Allah doesn't know this fact when He is the Sole Creator of it?  'Falling of the sky' is the expression referring to any celestial disaster affecting the earth like collusion with an asteroid, crashing of a meteor, colliding of heavenly bodies within the earth's solar system or any such mishap resulting from disruption of the force of gravity.  It could even refer to occurrences in the earth such as devastating hurricanes or tornadoes with high winds.  All furious disasters like these originate from the atmosphere above, not from the east, west, north or south and neither from beneath the ground like seismic hazards.

The word "sama" occurs in the Noble Quran in various Ayats, the basic elucidation of which is the atmosphere that surrounds the earth and spreads across the entire celestial expanse.  Needless to say, the sky that appears blue in color is not actually blue.  Rather, it's the infinite collection of atmospheric stretch that appears a shade of blue as seen from earth.

Thus quoting another Verse 67:5 translated by Pickthall.

"And verily We have beautified the world's heaven (SAMA ADDUNIYA) with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame."

Hence the term "Sama Adduniya" refers to the atmosphere with the heavenly bodies as seen above.   Stars, moon, sun, or anything else viewed at any time in the sky including what appears as the empty, vast atmosphere are a part of "SAMA."

Coming to Verse 22:65.

"He holdeth back the SAMA from falling on the earth unless by His leave"

Allah tells us that HE holds back everything that are above the earth from crashing into the earth, which means occurrences of celestial disasters.

Furthermore, Allah Almighty keeps the laws of physics afloat.  He has complete control over everything that exists in the heavens, many of which aren't yet known to humankind and may never be known.  The Almighty makes the laws of nature according to which HE keeps the entire heavenly system adrift.  If HE chooses, HE can at any time disrupt these laws, turning them against one another and causing chaos in the universe across the vast atmosphere.  These are the kinds of aspects, and there are countless number of them, that are referred to as the falling of the sky.

Let the self-professed and limited visioned 'geniuses' of Answering-Islam know that Allah revealed this Verse not to Einstein in the 20the century nor to Hawkins in the 21st century.  HE revealed it to a community in the 7th century who were being shown guidance to return to Monotheism.  Do you expect Allah to use the terms that are a part of physics in modern times?  Despite being a resident of the 21st century, if you are unable to understand the style of articulation by the Quran meant for communities of the 7th century, how do you expect that community to understand the expressions invented in the 21st century within the study of physics?

Anwering-Islam claims we misinterpret Quranic verses to make them compatible with science.  I ask those belligerent buggers, where is the misinterpretation?  Point out a single one that can be viewed as a thoughtless misinterpretation on our part which they claim?  As against that, for sure I can pick numerous thoughtless and biased twists on their part.  The evidences are in this very sub-board where we have compiled all of Answering-Islam's laughable accusations based on an amalgam of their own confusion, intentional misinterpretation, genuine lack of understanding of Arabic and their desire to antagonize.

Superbly explained.  I have nothing more to add.

Sam Shamoun & co. need to hang their heads in shame.

Sam Shamoun & Co.'s limited minds make up their own misinterpretations to support their smirks; if only they knew they keep laughing at the darkness they cast with their own hands.

V.22:65 is so simple to grasp.  But headstrong heathens will make trouble no matter what.

Many, many thanks my dear Sis Heba.
