Title: Ramadan 2017
Post by: Zainab_M on July 06, 2016, 09:34:44 am
 BismEm

 salamem  everyone.

For those who are observing Eid, even though it isn't a Quranic injunction, let me wish you Eid Mubarak.  Kindly keep your celebration low key and do not be extravagant.  Please try to keep most of your spendings for charity, giving Eid baskets of food and snacks to those who can otherwise afford very little.  And concerning those of our sisters and brothers who are alone without family, namely the elderly / retired, please don't forget them.  Visit them with a little gift, sit with them for some time and chat to cheer them so they feel they aren't alone. InshAllah, Allah will reward you greatly for such kindness in the Hereafter.

INSHALLAH, Ameen.

RAMADAN 2017 is tentatively expected to begin May 26, 2017, InshAllah.

Except Allah, no one knows how many of us will be around to experience the next Ramadan.  Let us pray that HE grants us the opportunity to go through another 30 days of the blessed month the following year, InshAllah, ameen.  Whatever good things you've learned during the Ramadan of 2016 and in whatever way you've cleansed yourselves, may Allah Almighty reward you for that.  But you must keep it up and make sure you don't lose this great wealth by deviating.  This is the ONLY wealth you can carry to the Hereafter.  Everything else, no matter how costly or dazzling, will be left behind and forgotten.

Walaykum As-Salam.  Thank you my Sis.  That's one of the best, cutest, Ramadan / Eid messages I've read.  May our guests read and take note please. Ramadan isn't just about refraining from food and liquid for a month and then marking its end with a celebration and resuming your life as if you learned nothing during those 30 days.  Ramadan is the ground for training and gaining control over ourselves and our souls (nafs) so we can think and decide better and successfully face the challenges of life for the rest of the year, rest of our lives.

Best of all, the captioned message on the Eid card.  Best wishes to you too dear Sis Zeynab.  Indeed, that meeting in Jannat, InshAllah, will be the most gorgeous of all .... can hardly imagine its loveliness.  That's why it's so very important to acquire His guidance, acceptance and forgiveness.  Ameen ya Rab.

Many, many thanks dear Sister Ruhi.  May Allah accept your fasting, prayers and supplications and shower you and your family with His blessings.

I hope the month of Ramadan went well for all of you.  Your kids must be asking for some hullabaloo today
:D

Aw, shukriya ma Sis.  Yeah, Ramadan went great;  just that the hours were long, so all of us experienced a bit of exhaustion.  Not much though as my husband and brother-in-law shortened their work hours.  That was very helpful.  No one missed food, thirst was the only occasional problem  :)

Nah Sis, kids aren't looking for much hangama, lol.  We had our balcony converted into a sun-room that was finished days before Ramadan.  It now needs to be cleaned and decorated.  We didn't do anything during Ramadan.  So my husband and sons have started working on it now.  They're busy there while my lil daughter and I are relaxing in the living room.  Not doing any cooking as enough left-over food is stacked up in the fridge.  My sister will be popping in early in the evening with a bunch of their leftover goodies.  So, InshAllah, we'll have a somewhat basi dinner .... and yeah, she and her hubby will be coming with their kids so in the evening we're expecting some hulabaloo and hangama with the kiddos  ;D

MashAllah, that sounds like a great day Sister Ruhi  :)  some pleasant halla hangama on the way  ;D  and with your sister and sis-in-law on the same floor of the building, makes it still greater .. just hop, skip and jump kinda thing. Do send us some pics of the sun room when it's done, InshAllah.  That was a fine idea.  Balconies are pretty useless.  It's far more useful turning them into an additional room, if one can afford it.  And you know, actually basi dinners and lunches often taste much better than fresh ones, especially biryani

Ahaahaha ha  :D  right Sis.  Some pleasant upcoming halla hangama.   Well actually, quite a lot of the leftover stuff is biryani.  My sister says she's getting stew with a couple of other sidekicks.  We'll have to enjoy it, like it or not, as everyone is too tired to cook a fresh dinner.  And will InshAllah surely send pics of sun room on email to you, Sis Heba and br.TS.  Right now it's lookin like a junk room .. area rugs, cane chairs, wall hangings etc. scattered all over  :D  Only the curtains have been put up.

Walaykum asSalam.  Very heartwarming message Sister Zeynab.  Allah The Almighty bless you.  May HE also grant us the good opportunity to earn the blessings of Ramadan in 2017.  InshAllah and ameen.

May our brothers and sisters who are observing Eid-al-Fitr, and most do, observe it with simplicity and show kindness to the unprivileged.  Also, on the last day of Ramadan (July 4), at least 200 Muslims were killed and over 300 wounded in Karrada, Iraq by a devastating car bomb explosion detonated by a kaffir and cowardly Al Qaeda sinner.  Same day, another similar sinner killed 6 people at the Prophet's (pbuh) Mosque [Masjid Nabwi] in Medinah after soon after Iftar.  Kindly offer a dua for the souls of those innocent people and adhere to keep the atmosphere sombre please.

Best wishes to Sister Ruhi for the family gathering .. and congratulations on the sun room  :D Hope to get some pics soon, Allah willing.

Yes true brother.  This was heartwrenching.  Thank you for mentioning it.  In Karrada Iraq they devastated a shopping center, and the time has come when the kuffar don't even want to spare the Prophet's (pbuh) Mosque.

Salams all.  And ameen to the most wonderful caption on your Eid card Sister Zeynab.  That meeting will be the happiest one ever, InshAllah, InshAllah.

Sis Ruhi, hope you folks enjoyed your "basi" dinner  :D  Does "basi" mean cold?

Eid-al-Fitr Mubarak to those who celebrate it.  Please keep it very simple as sisters suggested.

We pray for the souls of the innocent victims of Karrada and Medinah.  These people were needless victims of terrorism perpetrated by the allies of the West, Daesh.  May Allah Almighty grant them Hellfire.  Ameen.

Ahaa ha ha  :D  Yeah sis, the basi dinner tasted fantastic, quite fresh.  Basi means stale, something not freshly cooked  ;D

Didn't hear from you after Ramadan, hope all is fine InshAllah

O thanks for remembering sis.  Took a couple of days off and went to the cottage, whole family and sister's family.  Just for the kids actually, we weren't too keen.

It was okay.  Frankly I'm not crazy about this cottage culture and neither is my husband.  Like I said, it was mainly for the kids.  It's a nice wooded place, good scenery, took plenty of snack lunches and dinners.  We, the adults, mostly stayed in and chatted.  Kids had a nice time playing outside.  But one of us, in turns, had to be with them .. and kids were given strict orders no wandering off far and to be inside at 6 p.m. latest.
