Title: Reward of Martyrs (Surah Al-Hajj)

Reflections on the Noble Quraan

 salamem

"Those who fled their homes for the cause of Allah and then were slain or died, Allah verily will provide for them a good provision. Indeed! Allah, He verily is Best of all who make provision.

Assuredly He will cause them to enter by an entry that they will love. Indeed! Allah verily is Knower, Indulgent.

That (is so). And whoso has retaliated with the like of that which he was made to suffer and then has (again) been wronged, Allah will succour him.  Indeed! Allah verily is Mild, Forgiving."  (Al-Hajj - 22:58-60)

In Verses 22:58-59 The Almighty mentions the reward for martyrs in Paradise who fled the persecution in Makkah and came to Medinah, those who were fatally hurt by their enemies or those who died of illness or stress during this time of great hardship.

PLEASE NOTE:
As per the Noble Quran, the above verses constitute the reward for martyrs.  Other than what's stated above, the Noble Quran gives no more details on this subject. All other narrations and concepts that come from outside the Quran regarding the reward of martyrs e.g. martyrs being rewarded with 70 virgins and other similar sayings are just cooked up stories and concoctions from the controversial Hadith literature that have nothing to do with the Noble Quran.  The Almighty Allah has NOT endorsed any of those guesswork and surely those Hadiths are NOT the words of the Final Messenger (pbuh).

I would like to share another verse regarding the reward of martyrs.  All verses of the Qur'an are beautiful and this one is just too lovely.

"Indeed! Allah has bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain.  It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an.  Who fulfills His covenant better than Allah ?  Rejoice then in your bargain that you have made, for that is the supreme triumph."  (9:111) Surah At-Taubah

The Verse is truly exhilarating and breathtaking .. isn't it?

It's also a proof that the reward of martyrs was also highlighted in the original Torah and Bible.

And here's another verse that briefly speaks of the reward of martyrs.

"And those who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the loyal, and the martyrs are with their Rab;  they have their reward and their light; while as for those who disbelieve and deny Our revelations, they are owners of hell-fire."  (57:19)

Therefore, please know folks, nowhere does the Noble Quran mention things like "70 virgins" to be provided as reward for martyrs and all that kinda nonsense which the unauthentic and forged Ahadith literature spews.

Also I came across Verse 169 and 170 of Surah Al-Imran.

"Think not of those, who are slain in the way of Allah, as dead. Nay, they are living. With their Rab they have provision." (3:169)
"Jubilant (are they) because of that which Allah has bestowed upon them of His bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not joined them but are left behind: that there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve." (3:170)

Most likely the above Verses indicate, when Allah mentions the rejoicing of the martyrs, that their reward in Paradise begins immediately after they leave this earth.   And only Allah knows best.

JazekAllah Khair .....

A very complete and comprehensive description directly from the Great Quran on the rewards of martyrs in Jannah.  Alhumdulilah.

Islamophobes have been using the absurdities of Hadith to humiliate and hit at the Islamic Faith, hurling plenty of sarcasm on the "70 virgins" myth coming from unauthentic and forged sources like the Hadith literature which is no different from the completely altered (man-written) and shambolic Old and New Testaments.

Information about the true and authentic reward for martyrs only comes from the Noble Quran and nowhere else.
