Post by: Zeynab on June 25, 2017, 07:51:55 am
As-Salaam Alaikum everyone.  Tentative date for the start of Ramadan 2018 is May 17, InshAllah, InshAllah.

Alhumdulilah  .... wow, how time flies!  Ramadan 2018 is, InshAllah, just a month away.   May Allah The Almighty once again grant us the gift and privilege of experiencing this blessed and exhilarating month in good health.   Ameen, ameen.

As-salam Alaikum, peace.  May the barikat from The Almighty be on all believers. Ameen.

InshAllah, Ameen ya Allah.  Right sister, time really glides away in this fleeting world.  Tells us once again how much we need to hurry to collect the wealth (of iman and guidance) we intend to carry with us on the day of the Final Journey.

Have you started making the necessary preparations such as schedule for reading the Quran, offering nawafil, storing of necessary provisions etc.?

Spot on sister.  Except Allah, no one knows how much time anyone has left in the temporary world.  That's why I always think it's wise to presume the time is nigh.  Otherwise people have a tendency of getting lazy and delaying the most important work to salvage their soul.

O yeah.  Actually my husband and I have a standard schedule for Ramadan already prepared, written on a piece of paper and kept for reference every year.  If we need to make any adjustments, we make note of that separately.  Our standard schedule basically includes the additional time we need in Ramadan for the Quran - reading with the kids and teaching them, as well as our own reading as we read more than them.  Also additional time for our nawafil.  The first step is to plan the reduction of our timings at work so we can get more time at home.  Fortunately that isn't a problem as we're self-employed by the Mercy of Allah.   We store up on the provisions about 2 weeks in advance.  InshAllah, hope to start and finish that marathon grocery shopping of non-perishable foods within the first few days of May.

InshAllah, everything will go well for you too dear sis.  Ameen ya Rab.

Alhumdulilah.  That's called guidance.  SubhanAllah.   May Allah Almighty reward you and your family.   I know of several Muslims who despite the advantage of self-employment are reluctant to shorten work timings in Ramadan for fear of losing that much business.

Ameen dear sis.  Please keep me in your prayers.

Ameen. Thanks my sister.   Yes, unfortunately many Muslims do that.  Though a slight drop of income for a single month does not put anyone in permanent financial hardship, and does help to make them richer in the Hereafter.

Ameen dear sis.  Please keep me in your prayers.

Absolutely dear sister.  No need to even remind me of that :)
