Title: Wolves or Jinn?
Post by: Heba E. Husseyn on September 21, 2017, 05:46:13 pm
Salams all.  On September 18, 2017, Sott.Net (https://www.sott.net/article/362384-Mysterious-howling-moaning-noise-heard-in-Scotland) in its section "Earth changes" reported what it referred to as "news of the strange and unexplained."

On August 31 a hotel manager in northern Scotland was conducting his outdoor rounds at night. He suddenly heard a mysterious sound like a long weird moan.  He immediately took out his cellphone and recorded it.  He was of the opinion that it came from the wolves.  But wolves are no more in Britain.   Since early times the British had a wolf phobia as one would fear lions or tigers in other lands.   Wolves supposedly dug up graves (apparently in search of a free meal), attacked travelers and killed livestock.  Wolves began being hunted for extermination from the year 950 AD at the behest of the ruling kings and queens.  By the 1500s wolves had become very rare in England.  In Scotland extermination of wolves was officially completed by the 1600s but there were isolated reports of rare wolf sightings until the 1700s.  There's a story which is regarded as a myth of a wolf seen in Scotland in 1888.  That's how rare wolves are throughout UK including Scotland.

When the cellphone recording was sent to wildlife experts for their opinion, they disagreed with the hotel manager and said the sound was too "monotone" (unchanging in pitch) to come from wolves ....  even if a wolf or two suddenly appeared from extinction in Scotland.

To be precise, this incident recently happened in Outer Hebrides which is a cluster of small islands off the west coast of mainland Scotland.

You can hear the howling sound recorded by the Scottish hotel manager in the following Youtube video.

What's your opinion?

The howl is no doubt eerie.  I think a freak wolf.  Still more likely, it's some crazy drunk .. certainly no dearth of such evils in that country .... and drunks roaming the streets are notorious for emitting the strangest of loud noises.  In the still of the night they sound even louder.

Maybe it was a bunch of howling orca killer whales, though again wildlife researchers say orca whales seldom come close to shore.  They also sound much more squeaky than this recorded sound. My guess would be either orca or jinn.   Sister's guess about a drunk is also a possibility ... or maybe a drunk jinn :)  There are bad jinn too who can be great buggers.

I think it does sound quite like the wolves ... even if they're extinct a few isolated ones still might be there.  Usually cats are very scared of the sound of wolves.  That's why if you noticed, in that video posted by Sister Heba, apparently a stray cat is seen running across the street as if nervous.

For this one I wouldn't suspect the jinn :)

Hummm,, interesting suggestions  :D  So the possibilities are wolves, orca, drunk human or drunk jin.

I would agree with brother TS.  Yeah does sound very similar to wolves.

Or could be some extra-terrestrial reason, sound coming from outside the world because of something in the universe.  Only Allah Almighty would know best.

Correct, likely.

There are so many things humans can never know.  Only Allah does.
