Dear sr. Zaynab,

Quote
Eagle would pop out of some bush or flowering shrub

At the risk of sounding daft, which I apologize for in advance, did you look in or underneath the bushes and shrubs for any signs of the bird since it appears Eagle made the greenery cover of your garden as his private sanctuary and may have chosen to die there peacefully and graciously. When he did, I'm guessing the thick foliage obscured his remains from sight, while the flowers and wide open space may have hid any odours of decomposition.

It was a really pleasant story to read regardless, jazakallahu khayran.

I don't think so brother though only Allah Almighty knows best.   We scanned the garden, every inch of it.  Also in that garden the plants, shrubs, trees and grass were kept immaculately trimmed and pruned.  It wasn't the kind of place with a heap of matted foliage that could help conceal something you're looking for .. certainly not for long.  However, I do hope what you're saying is true Insh'Allah ... that he left this world peacefully from our garden rather than being hurt by something or someone in some way.

I see. Well I never meant to insinuate your garden to be anything other than well manicured and maintained. Its just the quoted text led to me to imagine Eagle securing a cosy hiding spot for himself similar to the one in this photo of a cat. Which unless one is crouching close to the ground,  can be completely obscured from seeing it.

The other possibility I sense is human intervention. The maids or housekeepers may not have been as enthusiastic about animal welfare as you and family, and probably got tired of having to feed a disabled bird everyday. So they secretly disposed of it just before your arrival home, in order to avoid getting you upset or sad.

Allah knows best.
