Title: 'Venue' of the Day of Judgment (Surah Az-Zumar)

 BismEm

Reflections on the Quraan

"And the trumpet is blown, and all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth swoon away, save him whom Allah willeth. Then it is blown a second time, and behold them standing waiting!

And the earth shineth with the light of her Lord, and the Book is set up, and the prophets and the witnesses are brought, and it is judged between them with truth, and they are not wronged."

(39:68-69)  Az-Zumar

I am sure it has often occured to many of us as to where the Day of Judgment will take place.  Only Allah knows best.  But from the above verses it appears quite clear that it would be on earth.  If you read these verses carefully, to my understanding the first trumpet refers to the complete destruction of the earth on Doomsday.  The second trumpet gestures the Judgment i.e. rising from the dead, salvation and retribution.

Alhamdulilah.  Thanks for your efforts, sister.  Such clarifications are so much needed within our community today.  People seem to be taking all their spiritual explanations from everywhere else except the Quran.
