Title: Twilight of life makes perception more vivid (Surah Al-Mumin)

BismEm

When one reaches old age (those who have a life long enough to grow old as per the Will of Allah), the entire path of life stands like an abstract picture of a winding course of a river behind them.  It helps those with depth and rationale to reflect and understand the ultimate purpose of life and its temporary nature in this earthly world.  Thus, true enough that at an old age one has little to look forward to.  But one has a lot to look back at.

"He it is Who created you from dust, then from a drop (of seed) then from a clot, then brings you forth as a child, then (ordains) that you attain full strength and afterward that you become old men - though some among you die before - and that you reach an appointed term, that haply you may understand."  (40:67) Surah Al-Mumin

Praise be to Allah

Such an excellent topic.  This is exactly anyone with just a bit of guidance would feel.  Unfortunately even a bit of guidance is nowadays appallingly rare, most of all among a horde of ritualistic Muslims around the world .. a truly ugly scenario!  Such folks, far from reflecting at the twilight of their lives, try to 'revive' themselves as sweet sixteen once again at age 70 plus.  In many elderly Muslims very little or no additional wisdom is observed compared to their younger days.  Tragic story of the human soul, I guess  :(
