November 01, 2023, 03:43:43 pm Ruhi_Rose: Yes .. making lots of dua everyday ..... watching those real life video clips, my face feels wet with tears all the time.  May ALLAH grant the best to these wonderful, brave & steadfast martyrs,  Ameen ya Allah.
November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

BismEm

1. By the snorting courses,
2. Striking sparks of fire
3. And scouring to the raid at dawn,
4. Then, therewith, with their trail of dust,
5. Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe),
6. Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Rab
7. And lo! he is a witness unto that;
8. And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent.
9. Knows he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth
10. And the secrets of the breasts are made known,
11. On that day will their Rab be perfectly informed concerning them.  (Surah Al-Aadiyaat) 100:1-11

Many readers of the Quran have found it hard to elucidate the first 5 verses of Surah Al-Aadiyaat, and neither have they been able to connect these verses with the rest of the Surah.

Pickthall writes:  "The meaning of the first 5 verses is by no means clear.  The above is a possible rendering."

But a careful reading of this Surah portrays a very clear picture from start to finish.  Let's not forget, the words of the Quran are clarified almost instantly to those who read it with the  love and humility required.  The description is so articulate, eloquent and rhythmic that even those readers with poor vocabulary can figure out the central theme of these 5 verses.

In the Noble Quran, many Chapters (Surah) begin by calling to witness things that are either awesome, pleasing or important while proceeding to touch the actual subject.  Take a look at the following examples:

Nay, I swear by this city -
And you are an indweller of this city -
And the begetter and that which he begat,
We verily have created man in an atmosphere: (Surah Al-Balad) 90:1-4

By the fig and the olive,
By Mount Sinai,
And by this land made safe;
Surely We created man of the best stature (Surah At-Teen) 95:1-4

By the declining day,
Indeed! man is a state of loss, (Surah Al-Asr) 103:1-2

There are many more Surahs with similar beginnings.  The first 5 verses of Surah Al-Aadiyaat reflect the same style i.e. by taking to witness the contents of these 5 verses.

While the final explanation of every Quranic Ayat is up to Allah, I would attempt to explain these 5 verses as follows.

Verses 1-5 presents a picture of rapid, fast-moving cavalry.  The fabulous description of galloping horses moves swiftly from one scene to another.  Verse 5 portrays the climax when the cavalry finally reaches its destination, every member of that cavalry clinging together as they confront the enemy head-on.  The Surah begins by tracing the course of the  troops on horseback, riding to the battlefield to face the enemy at dawn.  The galloping horses breathe noisily and fast through their nostrils.  They leave behind a trail of dust as they rush forth, and their hooves (that often have steel horseshoes) throw off sparks of fire.

Verses 6 to 11 is the actual message of the Surah which Allah mentions by bringing to witness the contents of Verses 1 to 5 as explained above.  This message includes the reality of man's ingratitude towards Allah Almighty, and man is fully aware of this transgression.  Human love for material wealth is boundless despite knowing that death is certain destiny, followed by the Day of Judgment, when all those sinful secrets that they nurtured in earthly life will be exposed.  It is on that Day when man will be confronted with the truth he kept ignoring while in this temporary world, that is, he will learn for himself that Allah Almighty has constantly been aware of all the details of his life.

Last but not least, about the galloping horses "striking sparks of fire" is a truly interesting description.  It confirms the Quran being the Word of Allah yet again.  This line is one of those many of the Glorious Quran that discloses an information that was little known to people at that time, in fact, even today many wouldn't know it.   If metal horseshoes get scraped against stones or rocks can spark off a fire that can spread very fast.  In July 2002, the Christian Science Monitor reported in Colorado that "In national forests across the West, cowboys are being asked to pay special attention to the bottoms of their horses' hooves.  The reason: Metal horseshoes, if scraped against rocks on backcountry trails, can spark wildfires capable of growing quickly into infernos."

Thanks for explaining this sister.  For quite sometime I too tried to understand the central theme of the first five verses of this Surah.  The articulation of the original brings the vivid picture of war steeds.  Alhumdulilah.  Your detailed analysis was very helpful.  I also read with interest the reality of the words "striking sparks of fire."  Truly amazing.

Assalaam Alaykum and peace.
