Removal of misogynistic Hadeeth in Turkey

Please avoid Harun Yahya people, I've learned enough to conclude that he is a nutcase who believes he is the mahdi. He is a typical traditionalist and has absolutely no Islamic education at all. Not that the so-called educated ulema are any better but that's another story, lol.

You are absolutely right brother Ozcan.  The man is bonkers.  It took our MV team a while to catch his guile.  Maybe at the time I posted this link, be weren't yet fully acquainted with Yahya's crappy approach.   Harun Yahya is not a Quran alone follower either.  But he often misleads people through his surreptitious approach into thinking he is.  Later, when the cat was out of the bag, we knew too well where he was coming from also learned of many more shocking whims that lurk inside the mind of that weird (rather dangerous) man. 

A former contributer to our forum, with ID "Brother Ace of Hearts" who has participated in this thread was a big supporter of Yahya despite exposing all the hidden information to him.  But we are not Yahya's supporters and we gave up trusting him long ago.

  We don't support Harun Yahya aka Adnan Otker either.  Initially, for  while we thought the guy was okay because of his deceptive 'strategy.'  We heard some of his Quranic tafsirs which sounded alright.   But he always plays a double game.  When he discusses the Quran, he talks only of the Quran.  Then, the next moment when he starts discussing Hadith, he goes about it with the full zeal & gusto of a firm Hadithist, and in the process he contradicts his own Quranic tafsirs he highlighted earlier.  That man needs to see a psychiatrist.

Adnan Oktar also openly flirts with girls on his tv programs shamelessly. He calls them "my cute cat" etc. He does this while talking about Islamic subjects. Hahaha   I don't know what to say, his tv programs can be found on A9 tv by the way.

He also says "you are so gorgeous Mash'allah!" Or; "I love everything that's beautiful including women". "Only backward Muslims hate beauty" and so on.. I guess we can safely conclude that he is a psychopath. Masha'Allah!

Taubah!  he sounds like a sexually depraved psychopath who has unsuccessfully tried to wear the garb of goodie-goodie guy.   I also read in various sites that his following is similar to that of a cult.  He has his own selected circle of sycophants .. and if someone officially decides to support him, it can be dangerous for them to change their mind later.  They can be hunted down and hurt.  The other side of this scoundrel also shows him participating in "Islamic" discussions with various mainstream sunni clerics who seldom have any problems with wicked munafiqs like Otkar.   The only sunni whom I've heard cautioning us against this man is Bilal Philips who caught Otkar's approach of pantheism.

I don't think they removed anything because they said they were going to re-categorize them.

Walaikum Salam.  Nothing significant that I know of.  The original article on our thread appeared back in 2006.  After that, until 2008 I had been reading brief reports that Turkish officials were silent about the Hadith project.   Some reports also suggested that they were wary that such a step might annoy the traditionalists.  The last article I read on this issue was of March 2008 titled Islam: Turkish Theologians Revise Hadith, To Mixed Reactions but to me the article doesn't seem to mention of any concrete revisions.  Rather the contents are quite inconclusive.  Obviously nothing relevant has been achieved, neither in Turkey nor any other part of the Muslim world.

I think that Hadith project of 2006 was a tactic to appease the Turkish military.  PM Erdogan had been in power for 5 years and he was having a lot of run-ins with the brass and had probably also faced a failed coup attempt.  The Hadith project was a policy to strike a balance between the military and the civilian government by showing interest to modernize Islam and making it more compatible with the legacy of Mostafa Kemal.   But now, as we have seen, PM Erdogan's government has already achieved the security it wanted by its unconditional obedience to the West.  That takes away the threat of a military coup from the minds of the senior government officials.  So now they don't need to appease the military nor offend the traditionalists .... which, from their view point, would be needless.
