It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

Here's an interesting true story for all bird lovers.  It's about crows .. or the house crow as they are commonly called.  I don't know why they are named "house crows."  Probably because they are found in rural and urban areas alike.  The black and gray "house" crow is found in South Asia across to the Middle-East and Africa.  In Europe and America they look much the same except that they are totally black without the broad gray strip along the neck and breast.

Coming to our story, I had no idea of the extent of unity that existed within the 'crow community' till I actually saw it myself one day.

Several years ago I noticed a crow sitting on the branch of a tall tree outside our kitchen.  There was a torn kite with a broken string stuck in that branch where the crow sat.  I soon realized that the foot of the crow had somehow gotten entangled with the string of the kite and he was unable to free himself.  Subsequently, he began cawing loudly.  So loud that my Dad also stepped out to see what was wrong.

Very soon and much to our surprise, we saw the most unusual scenario.  Within a few minutes as we stood there, many more crows gathered in that tree around the one that got its foot stuck in the kite-string.  In less than 5 minutes there must have been no less than 30 or 40 crows all over the tree cawing loud as ever in a chorus!

My Dad, who knew much about the intricacies of animal wildlife, explained what it meant.  First, he immediately went inside the house and told me come away too.

The huge crowd of crows surely knew that one of the members of their community was in trouble.  Most likely, they also misunderstood our presence, thinking that perhaps we were responsible for trapping their comrade.  Thus, they were determined to help him.  Their presence was a message to their friend in trouble and to us.  They wanted to assure him and us that they were there for him, they were determined to help him no matter what, and they wouldn't let anyone hurt him.

My mind was reeling with awe at this remarkable display of a firm sense of responsibility .. something we seldom find among humans .. and here we see this emphatic commitment from a species of the bird family crying out "united we rise and divided we fall."   Awesome and thrilling!

About a half hour after my Dad and I came inside the house, the cawing of crows tapered off.  I stepped out  carefully with gentle steps to check what was going on.  The trapped crow had flown away, obviously freed with the help of his 'community members,' a large crowd of no less than 30 crows on the tree.  They were all gone.

My amazement continued.  I could only think how they put we humans to shame!

wow, amazing!  I've known about sparrows and finches being a very co-operative 'family.'  But this story about crows surprises me.  Crows are supposed to be a bit more clever and 'opportunistic' like humans  Grin
