November 01, 2023, 03:43:43 pm Ruhi_Rose: Yes .. making lots of dua everyday ..... watching those real life video clips, my face feels wet with tears all the time.  May ALLAH grant the best to these wonderful, brave & steadfast martyrs,  Ameen ya Allah.
November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

Why?  Here are the reasons.

It is not fair for the family of the victim / victims.  Trying to promote justice with compassion for the guilty and lack of consideration for the family of the victims is hardly the right way to walk along this path.

It is also not fair to the community.  Much against the mythical ramblings of those against capital punishment, the truth of the matter is that majority of violent offenders and cold-blooded murderers who come out of prison after finishing their term are not rehabilited.  Most of them still carry no conscience and no remorse.  Many such people pry on new future victims and re-offend.  In reality, most freed murderers remain a threat to the society.

Again, unlike the propaganda of those against capital punishment, abolishing the capital punishment is a lot more costly for the government.  While executing a convicted murderer may cost between $15,000 to $20,000 .... keeping a convict reasonably healthy and comfortable in jail costs approximately $18,000 every year.  If this convicted criminal lives for 30 or 40 years (which many do), just imagine how much of the tax payers' money will be spent on the upkeep of hardened criminals!  Whether it be the cost of execution or a life term in prison, both are costlier than the annual tuition fee of most college students.  The only difference is that execution is a one-time cost while nurturing a criminal in jail is a recurring cost for an indefinite period.  For this reaason, often in many countries where there's no death penalty, the authorties release convicted murderers on parole to cut costs.  Needless to say, this is a travesty of justice.  For the sake of money, the entire community in which the freed criminal returns, is jeopardized.

Insanity is no reason to plead 'not guilty' and grant freedom to a killer.  Let's get real.  Apart from professional hit men and gang members, all other murderers are not in their right frame of mind (in one way or another) particularly when they carry out the act of murder.  Therefore, if insanity is used as an excuse to pardon murderers, hardly any murderer should at all get convicted.  That of course is nonsense.  All murderers (sane or insane) with a perpetual or unpredictible tendency to kill are a threat to the society and must be removed in the best interest of that society.  If cost of caring for dangerous offenders in prison cells is higher than capital punishment (and it definitely is), it would only mean that the government of that country is has no hesitation throwing away the tax payers' hard earned money for the benefit of criminals.  In Britain for instance, repeat offenders are supposed to be responsible for over 50% of the crimes committed annually.  Moreover, as a reader commented on the BBC website, "the conditions in British jails are not conducive to punishment."   Violent offenders in UK jails get to watch TV, use computers, they have access to gyms & libraries and get sumptuous meals.  The only thing missing is complete freedom of movement.  Many prisoners who get used to the prison routine don't mind that.  They get all other comforts in return, free of cost.  All this for killing and causing pain and suffering to so many innocent people who have to continue struggling with their emotional trauma .... in many cases they also have to struggle in practical life for losing their loved ones.

I absolutely agree that capital punishment is a serious decision and cannot be taken lightly.  It must NOT be implemented randomly and carelessly.  That goes without saying.  Death penalty should only be agreed upon if the person is convicted beyond all doubts and the nature of his/her crime is ruthless and dangerous.

But to abolish the death penalty altogether is no less a violation of rights as the careless dispensation of this law would be.  It's unfortunate that in the name of 'civilization', justice is being distorted into something so ugly.

Thank you for this very truthful piece of writing, sister cat.  You are speaking my very language.  I couldn't agree more from start to finish.
