It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

Reflections on the Glorious Quran

"Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere, who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return"[/u] - they are those on whom (Descend) blessings from Allah, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance."  (2:155-157)

The underscored line (in Verse 2:156) in original Arabic is:إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Transliteration: Inna lillahe wa inna elaihe rajioun

This beautiful and moving line is always recited whenever we get the sad news of the death of a loved one or the death of anyone.  It states the ultimate Truth, that is, we were created and sent into this world by Allah and after we finish our term in this world we return to Him.

Also, according to tradition, the whole of Surah Yasin (36th Surah) and Surah Rehman (55th Surah) are often recited by reading from the Quran at the event of death.

Very soothing post, Alhumdulilah.  I would say, this line is recited at the very first news of death.  It's such a lovely line and so short that it can also easily be recited repeatedly at someone's death.  But as far as I know, according to tradition people recite it only when they get the news of someone passing away.   But I recite it as a dua everyday.

Thank you for this post. Indeed, Allah is reminding us of the absolute truth of the fact that this is our temporary abode. The Verse is explaining the Believer's mindset that whenever anything troublesome befalls him, he immediately thinks of the fact that
1) His purpose is to be Allah's servent and that Allah has created us to be tested  *innaa lillah*
2) All these troubles and sorrows come to an end when he will return to Him *wa ilaihi raajiuun*

Unfortunately, I have observed too many people use this part of the Verse in a robot fashion. They dont feel anything in their hearts. It is what is in the heart which count in Allah's sight.

Yes brother, u r absolutely right.  Most people recite it without any idea of its meaning, and some don't even know that it's from the Noble Quran.  This is the reason I thought of putting it up.

Your insight into it is very intelligent and perfectly explained.

May God bless u and continue giving you the wealth of knowledge, ameen.

Praise be to Allah always.  Life is a gift from Him and it has to be returned to him for Judgment.  This line from the Quran is so truthful and great, I think it would be totally appropriate to recite it all the time, not just while receiving the news of death.

Thanks for posting it sister heba.

Yes Sister Ruhi, I too recite it as a du'a just about every day.  This Verse holds truth for every minute of our lives.

Very true sisters.  Inna Lilahey wa Inna Elahey Rajoon  is something we need to recite every day to remind ourselves that we are on a journey.  With the passage of every minute we're getting closer to our path of return to HIM.
