It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

The much talked about new energy saving 'green' bulbs could be emiting harmful UV rays.  It's unfortunate that health officials in U.K. and Canada are downplaying its safety risk for the purpose of saving money.  In Canada, these bulbs were sent for testing in December 2008 to confirm how harmful they might be.  The results haven't yet been made public.   However, the announcement informing the public of the safety risk of green bulbs was made on TV and the newspapers only a few days ago -- weeks after Toronto Hydro went about distributing 'complimentary' energy saving bulbs in many neighborhoods.

Read the following story carefully.  If you are using these bulbs in your home or office, remove them immediately until their safety is fully assured.

Energy-saving bulbs to be tested for UV radiation

In U.K. it was also reported that energy saving bulbs contain toxic mercury that cause various health problems including skin irritation and dizziness.  Especially if the bulb breaks, it could be dangerous and one needs to take precautionary steps.  Read the guidelines below.

HARMFUL EFFECTS OF UV RAYS

The sun gives out UV rays and over-exposure to it must be absolutely avoided as it can be very harmful for health in many ways.

If energy saving bulbs emit even a small amount of UV rays, it could be just as detrimental considering that these bulbs are supposed to be used indoors with close proximity to our bodies.

UV rays can cause:

-  Non-melanoma skin cancer

-  Premature aging of the skin.  Freckling, fine wrinkling, and dilation of capillaries

-  Cataracts and other eye disorders.  Corneal sunburn, growths on the outer surface of the eye, and other eye diseases are also known or suspected to be related to long-term exposure to UV rays.

-  Damage of immune system.  The skin is part of the body's natural defense system. Many health care professionals believe that UV radiation can alter immune system functions. When UV radiation suppresses immune responses, the body's ability to fight certain diseases, including skin cancer, is reduced. It is suspected that over-exposure to UV radiation also interferes with the effectiveness of immunizations given through the skin.

How appaling!  Aren't these people selfish?  Only Allah knows how many consumers might have used these bulbs already for long enough periods to be hurt.  In winters when days are so short and nights so long, just imagine how many hours people would spend under such harmful rays.

These energy lights are one more addition to the huge list of modern health hazard agents.

Surely, every way of life has pluses and minuses.  If we live in a clean environment like Dakhla al-Qasr, the deadly health hazard risks will almost certainly drop by 200% but so will the benefits of all modern amenities.  And in our enthusiasm to acquire these amenities we have no other choice but to expose ourselves to countless hurtful chemicals, toxins, UV rays and what not.  In modern times our lives are surrounded by these microscopic killers - components of cosmetics, toiletries, detergents, household cleaners, food preservatives & artificial flavors, just name it.  And then there are cars, factories, cigarettes leaving of their residues in the atmosphere.  The harmful effects of some have been proven while others are suspects.  But one can be certain that with each new discovery of a modern-day daily commodity, there's one more unhealthy agent in the air or within our system.  We are simply stuck right in the middle of it.

The municipalities in big cities of North America are persuading people to use these lights saying that they'll save money by saving electricity.  But actually it's they who will save money so that's why they are so persistent.

Now since it's been discovered that there's a distinct danger in using them, I sincerely hope they have the sense to care more for saving lives than money.

Hmmmm, and now this ....

Scientists invent £2 energy saving lightbulb that last for 60 years

A £2 energy-saving lightbulb that lasts for 60 years has been developed by scientists at Cambridge University.

The researchers have designed a bulb that is three times more energy efficient than today's best offer and can cut lighting bills by 75 per cent.

The bulbs are made using Gallium Nitride (GaN), a man-made substance used in LEDs (light emitting diodes). It is routinely used in bike lights, mobile phones and camera flashes.
