November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

By Br. Idris Tawfiq
Reading Islam

Muslims read in the noble Quran:

"Allah did aforetime take a Covenant from the Children of Israel, and appointed twelve Chieftains among them. And Allah said: "I am with you: if you (but) establish regular prayers, pay zakah, believe in My Messengers, honor and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to Gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resists faith, he has truly wandered from the path of rectitude."  (Glorious Quran; Al-Ma'idah 5:12)

In other words, Allah Almighty sent messengers to His people throughout time, calling them to worship One God. Indeed, these people who submitted to Allah's Will can be considered the ones who followed the message which would later be revealed in its fullness to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

At a time when most people were consumed in the worship of idols, the Children of Israel were faithful to His message.

Remember that the central tenet of Judaism is summed up in the Shema:

"Hear, O Israel! The LORD your God, the LORD is One!  You shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. Take to heart these words which I enjoin on you today. Drill them into your children. Speak of them at home and abroad, whether you are busy or at rest. Bind them at your wrist as a sign and let them be as a pendant on your forehead. Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates."  (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

Allah promised them that if they abided by His words they would be delivered into the Promised Land and would live there in peace. So it was that Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) led the Children of Israel out of Egypt, out of the hands of Pharaoh, into the desert, where they wandered for many years:

"And (remember) when We did deliver you from Pharaoh's folk, who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, slaying your sons and sparing your women: That was a tremendous trial from your Lord."  (Glorious Quran; Al-Baqarah 2:49)

No sooner had they left Egypt, though, than they began to complain and wish they were back. It was not easy doing what Allah wanted. They said to Moses:

"They said: O Moses! We will never enter (the land) while they are in it. So go thou and thy Lord and fight! We will sit here."  (Glorious Quran; Al-Ma'idah: 24)

When they had entered Palestine, many of the Jews were faithful to what Allah wanted. They listened to the word of His prophets and lived as His people there.

What is most important to remember, though, is that the land was a gift to them. It was not theirs by right, but had been given to them by Allah as long as they obeyed Him. For explaining this to a non-Muslim, the story of Adam and Eve in the Bible could be used.  Adam and Eve were promised to live in the Garden of Eden as long as they kept just one condition: they must not eat of the fruit of a certain tree. When they did eat this fruit, they were expelled from the Garden. The land that had been given to them was taken away from them.  In the same way, Allah does not go back on His word. He does not break His promises. It is precise because He is true to His word that the Jews were expelled from the land. Because of their disobedience, they were, first of all, taken into captivity by the Babylonians.  Later, it was the Romans who were used by Allah to realize His plan. The Jews, who were expelled by the Romans, were never to return to the land of Palestine.

For a time in history, then, the Children of Israel were Allah's chosen people. But they were not chosen because of race or ethnic origin. They were chosen for their faithfulness to Islam. In the Quran we read what means:

"O Mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other. Verily, the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the greatest of you in piety. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware."  (Glorious Quran; Al-Hujurat 49:13)

It is too easy to point fingers at others. It is easy to say that the Jews lost Allah's favor and lost their right to the land, whereas Muslims gained it. Muslims deserve Allah's favor as long as they, too, remain faithful to Islam. We should never forget this. As Allah says:

"My covenant includes not wrongdoers." (Glorious Quran; Al-Baqarah 2:124)

We do not read anywhere that Arabs are Allah's favored people. Let us never forget that Islam is far beyond the Arab world, which only makes up eighteen percent of all Muslims. Islam is for all people. It is a mercy to all humanity, not just to Arabs.

The message of Islam is open to everyone, including Jews and idol worshippers, if only they turn and submit to His Will.

What we now know as Palestine can truly be called the "land of the prophets". Most of our prophets came from there. In fact, only a few of them came from the Arabian Peninsula.

Muslims honor Jews and Christians as People of the Book because Allah first sent His revelation to them.  Unfortunately, over time the message they received became distorted and they lost the original message they had received, so their religion became something different to what Allah wanted. We read:

"Some of the Jews pervert words from their meanings."  (Glorious Quran; An-Nisaa' 4:46)

And we also read in the Quran:

"So woe to those who wrote the Book with their own hands, and then say: 'This is from Allah,' that they may sell it for a little price. So woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for their earnings." (Glorious Quran; Al-Baqarah 2:79)

The situation of the Children of Israel in the Promised Land shows us that Allah is faithful to His promises.  It shows us that His mercy is for all people. And it tells us to follow His will carefully, lest we, too, should become of the losers. Muslims are not to become complacent and can indeed rejoice in these words:

"We have written in the Scripture, after the Reminder: My righteous slaves will inherit the earth." (Glorious Quran; Al-Anbiyaa' 21:105)

Wa'salaam.  The answer to your question is already contained in my response at Trembling of Mount Sinai thread.  I will quote it here again for your direct reference.

QUOTE
Well, actually both Jews and Christians have always thought themselves to be spiritually superior.  But that's only a figment of their own imaginations.  They think on such lines because they haven't yet understood that the Monotheistic Faith or Tawheed has only ONE source, that is, Allah Almighty.  All Prophets were sent by Allah Almighty with the same message, and thus, every message of Tawheed brought by each Prophet was a confirmation of the previous one.  And the Noble Quran, the Final Message, is the confirmation of all original previous Divine Books.  The Jews and also the Christians don't understand this fact because they have changed the contents of their Books and replaced the original with incorrect man-written information.

Hence, Allah mentions in the Noble Quran refuting the claim of the Jews & Christians: "And they say: Be Jews or Christians, then ye will be rightly guided. Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Nay, but (we follow) the religion of Abraham, the upright, and he was not of the idolaters."  (2:135) Surah Al-Baqrah.
UNQUOTE

Please know that the Jews can say what they like.  That has no bearing on the truth.  That bit about the "Jews being the chosen people" is only a saying of their tongues.  Allah never said that.

Also remember, just the titles of "Muslim" or "Jew" or "christian" does not make a person 'chosen' and neither are these mere titles any signs of piety in the sight of Allah.  Instead, Allah judges us on the basis of our belief and conduct.  Only if we sincerely believe in Allah Almighty (The One and Only) and strive to improve our conduct for the love of Allah, only then does Allah consider us to be pious and only then can we be considered as the chosen slaves of Allah.

Walaikum Salaam, sister Sara.

Some Jews might deny it out of embarrassment but almost all religious Jews in their minds have raised the status of Ezra to divinity.  There is no doubt about that.

Particularly among the Arab Jews throughout the ancient and middle ages, Ezra has been venerated by them for centuries with all sorts of mythical stories, status of divinity and gestures of worship. He was a priest who later became a spiritual celebrity with them and he also re-wrote the Torah sometime during the Babylonian era.  Ezra's writings in the Torah very much laid the foundation of future Judaism.  And the sort of things Ezra wrote in the altered Torah totally contradict the concept of Tawheed.

Encyclopaedia Britannica, 1963, vol. IX, p. 15 writes: "Ezra occupies a unique position in the esteem of all Jews, and has always been praised by them in the most extravagant terms."   Ever since Ezra re-wrote the Torah in the Babylonian era, according to the decision of the senior rabbis and talmudists, Ezra's laws have overridden the original Laws of Allah sent to Prophet Moses through the Divine Commandments.  This itself amounts to blasphemy.

Muhammed Asad (who reverted from Judaism to Islam and has translated the) Quran into English, explains that ever since Ezra re-wrote the Jewish scripture "he has been venerated to such a degree that his verdicts on the Law of Moses have come to be regarded by the Talmudists as being practically equivalent to the Law itself: which, in Qur'anic ideology, amounts to the unforgivable sin of shirk, inasmuch as it implies the elevation of a human being to the status of a quasi-divine law-giver and the blasphemous attribution to him - albeit metaphorically - of the quality of "sonship" in relation to God. In this connection the Jewish scripture Exodus iv, 22-23 ("Israel is My son") or Jeremiah xxxi, 9 ("I am a father to Israel") expressions to which, because of their idolatrous implications, the Qur'an takes strong exception."

The Noble Quran mentions in Verse 9:30 of Surah At-Taubah:

"And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (himself) fights against them. How perverse are they!"

Thus, I would like to quote Dr. Muhammad Mohar Ali's very illuminating comment on this topic which states that most versions of the Old Testament (Torah) might not clearly talk of Uzayr or Ezra as son of God  "but the Qur'an was not referring to what is written in the Old Testament about Uzayr but it is referring to the belief and assertion of some of the Jews of the time (in Arabia particularly) who regarded Uzayr as the son of God. In fact the 'ayah in question, 9:30, starts with the expression: "And the Jews say". The commentator Al-Baydawi makes it clear with reference to this Ayah that because the Old Testament was given its present form by Uzayr, many of the Jews of the time considered him a "son of God" and that specifically at Madina there was a group of Jews who held that belief. When Ayat 9:30 was read out to them, they did not contradict it.  It is to be noted that this Ayat is unanimously regarded as Madinan. Hence the silence of the Jews of Medinah on the matter is sufficient indication that they did believe Ezra to be son of God (AstaghfarAllah)."

A quotation from Islamic Life Dawah Center also mentions something very truthful and correct which will be a very useful clarification for readers.  I quote:  "And notice that the Quran does not say that the Jews believed Uzayr was the son of God, it says quite clearly that the Jews said he was the son of God. So, the Quran was responding to an explicit proclamation of the Jews. Either the Jews were intentionally lying, or they actually believed what they said - but in any event the Quran cannot be wrong since the Jews of Madinah actually said this."

There is no doubt that the Jews do call Ezra "son of God."  The Jews themselves acknowledge that many of their elderly spiritual leaders are referred to in such terms.  Even Prophet David (Daud) is called "son of God" in the altered Bible.

Therefore, it is confirmed that the Jews have Haram ideas about Ezra, similar to the Christians having Haram ideas about Prophet Essa (son of Maryam).

Thanks a lot for this video, sister Sara.  I will briefly highlight the basic points as detailed by sister Zeynab in perspective with this video.

As Zeynab explained, the Jewish bible does not categorically state Ezra as "son of God" but it is the insinuations made by the Jewish rabbis and Talmud writers attaching excessive importance to Ezra that have elevated him to the level of divinity.  For example, elevating the writings of Ezra who changed the Torah to the same level as the original Commandments of God Almighty amounts to putting him at par with Allah which is shirk.

Secondly, the reference in the Quran (as also highlighted in sister Zeynab's response) is basically to the Arab Jews of the 7th century.  They definitely went around propagating the idea of Ezra being as powerful as God Almighty, and those Jews also respected Ezra as if he was God.  This is shirk.

Thirdly, it is important to remember that the Jews and Christians keep changing their faith from time to time.  Thus, the Jewish and Christian bibles also keep changing and being "updated" every few years to make them compatible with their current social, legal and political climates.  Therefor, if a Jew in modern times claims something, it might not be the same as what the Jews believed in 1,000 years ago or not even the same as a hundred years ago.

Fourthly, although both Jews and Christians have introduced a lot of changes in their faith which are not compatible with Tawheed, yet they feel shy to admit it when they talk .. just as this guy in the video is denying the shirk of his community.  I have spoken to several Christians and like the Jews, they also claim that they don't say Essa is the "son of God" yet if you study their religious books or hear their lectures, you will find that 99% of Christians uphold the idea of trinity which is complete shirk.

Thus, regardless of what Jews or Christians say, the fact of the matter is that in 7th century Arabia the Jews did have wrong ideas about Ezra and many of them still have.  And it's much the same with the Christians regarding Essa son of Maryam.  They do not follow pure Tawheed, that's for sure.  Haram teachings & information that amount to shirk are written all over the altered Torah and Bible. They can say what they like, that's insignificant.  If they really call themselves followers of Tawheed then why did they change their Books which Allah sent them?
