Shun superstitions, attributing earthly hazards to devils

Superstitions of various kinds are common in polytheist communities and unfortunately also among several so-called believers who either practice the Divine Faith only as a ritual without understanding it or don't practice it at all.  

One very common superstition among disbelieving folks is that they think natural hazards or misfortunes in life come from the curse of devils or demons.  For example, during the South-East Asian tsunami of 2005, many non-Muslims of those regions had similar beliefs and attributed the disaster to devils and spirits according to their traditional polytheist ideas.  
 
The Glorious Quran strictly prohibits all superstitious ideas.  Storms, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, forest fires, epidemics etc. etc. .... none of these natural hazards or misfortunes are perpetrated by devils for the simple reason that they do NOT have the power to bring them about.  Other than Allah Almighty, the One and Only, no one exercises any power in the universe to make such decisions and enable them to happen.  In fact, the Glorious Quran has made it clear that Allah Almighty does not give devils the permission even to hear His decisions.   Allah's decision of bringing about a disaster can be on the basis of different reasons - for example - punishment for disobedience, tests & trials etc. Attributing any disasters to the devils or to any evil existence or evil icons is a clear violation of the dictates of Allah Almighty.  It means that people with such mindset apparently do not accept Allah Almighty as the All-Powerful.  This is a huge sin and amounts to shirk.  It amounts to invoking partners with Allah.  Astaghfarallah.   Kindly read the following verses from Surah Ash-Shu'ara carefully.  

"And We destroyed no township but it had its warners
For reminder, for We never were oppressors.
The devils did not bring it down.
It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power,
Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing.
Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed."    (26:208-213)  Surah Ash-Shu'ara
