Heed the orders of Allah Almighty first

"How should I fear that which you set up beside Him, when you fear not to set up beside Allah that for which He has revealed unto you no warrant? `Which of the two factions has more right to safety?, (Answer me that) if you have knowledge."  (6:81)


It's our prime duty to heed the commandments of Allah and look upon His laws as the Criterion.  Anyone who doesn't obey Allah's rules has plenty of reasons to fear Him and His punishment.

The above verse discusses the lack of wisdom of the idolaters who wanted Prophet Abraham (pbuh), who was a strict monotheist, to fear their idols.  But their ignorance made them heedless of fearing Allah for their huge sin of setting up partners and rivals with Allah.

If we reflect, we can somewhat compare the heedlessness of those ignorant people with the mindset of many of our Muslims of today who devoutly follow Hadith.  They claim that they fear that rejection of Hadith will be a sin.  Yet, they fail to perceive the situation the other way round with the Noble Quran as their foundation.  Though the Quran gives no warrants to follow the man-written Hadith, yet majority of Muslims follow it without fearing (or even thinking) that they are embracing an institution by putting it alongside Allah's Message when Allah has clearly said NOT to take anything else as guidance except His Final Messge, the Noble Quran.
