Islam - how would you define it?

Defining Islam, influenced by NONE but the Noble Quran.

Islam is undoubtedly a religion of peace as it strongly prefers peace over violence.  But to label it only as a  "religion of peace" (as is often done by frightened Muslims to appease critics) is insufficient.  Islam is a religion of peace and MUCH MORE.  It is a RELIGION OF LIFE, JUSTICE AND AFTERLIFE.   Alluding to Islam as virtually nothing beyond a "religion of peace" amounts to limiting it, restricting it by putting it in a very finite mold and constantly putting it on trial.  It damages the unique and boundless beauty of this remarkable Faith.

Unfortunately there are societies (including the Muslim society itself) that are eager to change Islam to suit their interests by removing  its comprehensive status and lessening it into something without a voice.  Unacceptable!   Life is practical and 'turning the other cheek' unconditionally is neither viable nor in conformity with justice.  Preachers of this fantasy are its keenest violators.  Though linguistically the Quran is the loveliest and most sophisticated piece of Arabic literature, yet it isn't meant to be a decorative philosophy of phrases for beautifying literature or speech.  Islam is not any 'philosophy' at all.  It is the most significant reality establishing the truth of Monotheism and accordingly providing the principles, rules and guidelines for earthly and spiritual life.  Islam is meant to be lived, and for a believer (submitter) there can be nothing as futile or unavailing as separating Faith from life.

The Glorious Quran deals with the diversity of life, realistically.  It upholds peace, contentment and cordiality through civilized interaction based on justice and reciprocity within the Islamic world and beyond.  To grasp the goal of Islam, it's imperative to retain all its values and prioritize them with the right balance, without which the inimitable charm of this Great Faith will be concealed or distorted.
