Kashmir - the 'Palestine' of South Asia

The province of Kashmir (known as Jammu & Kashmir) is in the north of Pakistan and India.  It is a disputed territory because India has wrongly occupied this province against the wishes of its people.  The population of Kashmir is 95% Muslims who want their homeland to be separate from India.  The Muslim majority of Kashmir want independence and name their land "Islamic Republic of Kashmir."  But India has unleashed a rule of terror in that province since the last 60 years killing more than 80,000 people ever since.  To make matters worse, the international media and human rights organizations are strictly banned from entering Kashmir.  The only reporters allowed to report from Kashmir are among the local Indians who are approved by the Indian government.  Thus, the turmoil and brutality conducted by the Indian police and army in Kashmir is completely blacked out. 

The most recent troubles broke out a couple of days ago after a young boy was shot dead by the Indian police in Kashmir. 

It seems impossible that the Kashmiri people will ever give up seeking their goal of independence.  The Indian government is forcibly keeping Kashmir as a part of India.

Thanks sis.  I'm trying to follow up on this issue.  It's an old story of immense turmoil and suffering, but unfortunately gets very little world attention.
