It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

 BismEm

Don't be surprised, a recipe from me for the first time Smiley Smiley

We returned from a dinner at an old friend's house last week .. me, my dad, my mom, my 2 sisters and my brother.  The food was great, very rich and complicated to prepare.  As much as I would like to give the recipes of the main dishes, I have no idea how to go about with them  Grin  However, the dessert, which was also special was easy to prepare .. so my sister said.  She took the recipe that evening, but couldn't take a pic because we didn't carry our camera.  My sister prepared this dessert a couple of days ago, it turned out great, even better than the one we had at the dinner party.  But forgot to take the pic again, so my sister found the pic of that dessert in a blog today because I told her I wanted to put it up here.  The pic looks exactly the same as the ones we ate at the party and here at our home.  It's called Arabic rice pudding or Roz bil halib in Arabic.

I thought you folks might like it.  So, I'll let my sis type it out and download the pic .... Enjoy it after you make it  Cheesy

Roz bil Halib or Arabic rice pudding

From Geant Online Blog

Items needed
4 cups milk.
1/3 cup short grain rice, washed.
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons rose water or kewra water
Half teaspoon vanilla extract.
1 tablespoons corn starch.
3 tablespoons cream
Bunch of chopped pistachios, blanched, chopped and toasted

How to prepare

In a large pan mix milk and rice.  Bring to boil then reduce the heat, let it
simmer for one and a half hours.

In the meantime, mix the cornstarch with a little cool water into a paste.

After the milk and rice mixture thickens, stir in cream, sugar and then the cornstarch paste gradually, stirring all the time.  Allow to cool for a while.

Then spoon the mixture into a dessert bowl, topped with pistachios as shown in picture.  Refrigerate.  Serve cold.

That's it!   seeyem

W-O-W !!!!   Subhan'Allah!    brother Pt .. u putting up a recipe, and that too such a fabulous one ?  teethsmile    What a pleasant surprise for a dessert lover like me.  I think it's very easy to prepare.  The Pakistani rice pudding is very similar which I'v made many times, except that you don't need to use cornstarch and vanilla.  In place of vanilla put a few strands of saffron, preferably Iranian saffron.  And people also like to use blanced almonds with pistachios.  With the same recipe of Pak rice pudding (or kheer), you can also prepare vermicilli pudding (or sheer qorma), a traditional dessert for the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.  Just replace rice with a handful of shredded vermicilli.   Pic below ..

Thanks a pile dear brother.  I will certainly try Roz bil Halib as soon as possible, and surely in Ramadan.  Allah bless u.

woooooooo !!!!!  recipe comin from br. pt, how come?  simpsons Grin Grin  and what a great one.  yeah, i know of roz bil haleb, also had it several times.  it's my dad's favorite.  I also make it the same way, only omit vanilla and cornstarch.   and brother, i think sugar a quarter cup as u mentioned is too little.  It should be at least three-quarter cup.

Thank u dear brother.  sorry i couldn't come earlier and see this fab recipe.  was sooooo busy today .. InshAllah will drop by tomorrow for longer time.

heeeheeheeeee!  u r welcomed sister Cat.  u think sugar is less?  then i guess my sister made a typing error.  She must have put more because the one she made tasted perfect.  But since u too have great culinary skills, I'm sure u must have sensed correctly.  I'll confirm it from my sister.

wahwah, MashAllah!  indeed I'm very "surprised"  Cheesy Cheesy

This is great dessert.  Sis zeynab is right.  It's very similar to the Pakistan rice pudding called 'kheer.'  The only extra items here are vanilla and cornstarch.  But since I've made kheer many times, on the first day of Ramadan I'll remember to try this, InshAllah.  and yeah, i've noted that sugar should be a bit more .. Thank ya brother Smiley

heeheeheeehe  Grin   that's gonna be a verrrry expensive Roze bil halib.  FedEx charges $100 for a small envelope with 2 pieces of paper.  Imagine how much they'll charge for carrying a dish of perishable dessert  Grin Cheesy Grin  Compared to that your mama can make it for a total cost of only $10   viictery
