Pakistan flood victims

I'm awfully sad to learn of the huge devastation caused by heavy rains and surging flood waters in Pakistan's largest province of Punjab.  According to foreign observers, 1500 people have died so far and more than 100,000 homeless or at risk of disease.  Drinking water has been contaminated everywhere in the province.  This province consists of the country's largest farmlands for agricultural produce of fruits, vegetables and livestock.  Most farmlands have been destroyed and many farm animals have perished.  Food shortages are very likely in the near future, further heightening the ongoing inflation in the country.  And all this to happen just days before the month of Ramadan when people want to be and feel peaceful is truly unfortunate.  Indeed it's a big test for these people.  May Allah Almighty grant them the strength to go through it with strength and perseverence.  May Allah Almighty bring conditions back to normal soon and save the rest of the country from getting inflicted by the rising river waters.  Ameen.  Please pray to Allah to grant relief to the affected areas soon.  For Muslims, it will be a good idea to donate their Zakat for this purpose, but be sure you donate through reliable organizations.
