Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

As-salaam Alaikum to all.  I got a newsletter from IslamicTube today, which I do periodically.  It mentioned about the importance of the month of Ramadan on its front page which comprised of standard contents and was good.

Then it went on to discuss the preceding months prior to Ramadan - Rajab and Shaban - that preparations for Ramadan must begin from these months.  It did not give many details as to how exactly one should prepare for Ramadan starting from Rajab.  But I do know that many Muslims in our community fast the entire month of Rajab.  Also, I don't know how, but there's a rumour that Isra & Meraj took place on 27 Rajab.  Even many scholars say this is unfounded and controversial information.   Fasting in Shaban differs from people to people.  Those who fast in Rajab, probably do fast a few days in Shaban too.  Scholars say if you feel fasting too much in Shaban will take away your energy and leave you frail for Ramadan, then don't fast in Shaban.  Leilatul Barrah is also observed on 15th Shaban.  Don't forget, while all this squabbling goes on with the people, the Noble Quran says to fast ONLY in Ramadan and that Allah does not want to make Religion hard for His slaves.  Yet, some of our people pile up hardships for us by clearly expecting us to fast during two additional months and they also recommend us to fast in Muharram and 6 days of Shawal.   Needless to say, all this comes from Hadith.

The "preparation" for Ramadan in Rajab and Shaban is given so much importance that some of our folks are almost of the opinion that without "preparation" in Rajab and Shaban, fasting in Ramadan - however sincerely it's done - will not be accepted.  Your feedbacks will be useful.

A couple of common phrases linked to the months of Rajab and Shaban to highlight their link with the blessed month of Ramadan.

Quote
"The month of Rajab is the month for planting, the month of Sha'baan is the month of irrigating the crops, and the month of Ramadaan is the month of harvesting the crops.

The likeness of the month of Rajab is that of the wind, the likeness of Sha'baan is that of the clouds and the likeness of Ramadaan is that of the rain; whoever does not plant and sow in Rajab, and does not irrigate in Sha'baan, how can he reap in Ramadaan?"

Unquote

Such aspects as quoted above about Rajab and Shaban are NOT found in the Quran in connection with Ramadan.  Allah Almighty only mentions the month of Ramadan as the month of fasting in which the Final Message began being revealed.

"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong).  And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days.  Allah desires for you ease;  He desires not hardship for you; and (He desires) that you should complete the period, and that you should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure you may be thankful."  2:185 Al-Baqrah.

This is another useful summary of the months of Rajab and Shaban concerning their connection with the month of Ramadan which the people talk about in plenty but the Noble Quran only highlights the importance of Ramadan.

As you would know, the Hijri month of Shaban 1442 has begun.  Today is 7th Shaban, 1442.  That's how speedy time is!  Alhumdulilah.

We already spoke at length on fasting in Rajab and Shaban in our thread the big mess.   Let us discuss a little more here.

There was quite a commotion in our virtual meeting the other day on traditions of Shaban.  Some said all Shaban traditions are forged, skip them to avoid circulation of misinformation and adhere to the Quran only.  Of course I was among them.  Some others said the opposite.  Few said keep a few logical ones and remove the rest that are too obviously forged.

The commonest hadith on Shaban supposedly "Rajab is for Allah, Shaban is for me and Ramadan is for the Ummah."   But this is even rejected by hadith followers as forged.  They say it's not from Bukhari or Sahih Muslim, that it's not a hadith at all and to ignore it.  So it has been trashed.

But the problem is that there are also various other aspects about Shaban and Rajab which our jurists follow which are also not endorsed by the Noble Quran.  These other aspects prop up from the same source - the hadith institution - and not endorsed by the Quran, yet the mainstream claim they are "authentic" probably based on isnad, not realizing that isnad is not carved on stone.  It can easily be constructed or forged like the narrations.

The following hadith from Ahmad is deemed "authentic" by many of our folks but it's forged.

The Prophet (saw) said, ′Allah gazes at His creation on the fifteenth night of Sha’ban and then forgives all His slaves except for two types of people: those who attribute partners to Allah and those who have rancour for their fellow Muslims’. (Ahmad)

This hadith is another false one.   Seems like it's trying to copycat 15th Shaban with Leilatul Qadr.   NO compatibility with the Noble Quran.  It's absolutely true that Allah Almighty is NOT pleased with idolaters and disbelievers until they believe and follow the right guidance.  And it's also absolutely true that the Noble Quran does NOT speak of 15th Shaban as any special day as portrayed in the above hadith.  Based on this fabricated tradition, people have constructed numerous stories.   Fifteenth day of Shaban is traditionally observed as Shab-e-Barat or Leilatul Barah presuming that the ruh of the deceased come to visit earth on this day when the Quran makes it clear that those who leave this world cannot ever return.  They are separated from the people of this temporary dunya by a barrier.

"Until, when death comes unto one of them, he says: My Rab!  Send me back, so that I may do right in that which I have left behind! But nay! It is but a word that he speaks; and behind them is a barrier until the day when they are raised."  23:99-100  Al-Muminun.

The common idea unsupported by the Noble Quran circulating via ahadith claims that the Prophet (pbuh) would fast in Shaban (but not the entire month) because he said in the month of Shaban all deeds of people are presented to Allah including the deeds of the Prophet (pbuh).  The other reason why the Prophet (pbuh) supposedly observed fast in Shaban claimed by hadith is to show solidarity with his wives.  Since women miss few days of fasting in Ramadan because of menstruation, so the Prophet's (pbuh) wives used to make up for those missed fasts of Ramadan in Shaban.  Thus the Prophet (pbuh) didn't want to eat while they would be fasting.   But fasts missed during Ramadan can be made up by fasting any time of the year on any month, not necessarily Shaban.  The Quran only says if any one misses any of the  days in Ramadan, they should make it up afterwards.  Never specifies any particular month for it.   This refers to illnesses that are not chronic or of a serious protracted nature.

That's about additional (nafl) fasts which is also not given in the Noble Quran.  They claim that if you fast for 6 days soon after Eid with a concocted calculation that each day is equivalent to 60 fasts, therefore 60 x 6 = 360, would be like you've observed fast for an entire year.   No reason to accept this as true.  The Quran never ever gives the permission for such random presumptions.

Ah, I see, yeah now I recall  .....

And what about the supposed nafl fasting which they claim the Prophet (pbuh) observed on all Mondays and Thursdays?

Yeah, the unauthentic reason for it is the same fabricated story as fasting in Shaban, that deeds are presented to Allah on these days, that is, Mondays, Thursdays and in the month of Shaban (or 15th of Shaban).  I don't know why our folks indulge in such delusive works.   Even a kid would know this tale has absolutely no bearing on the contents of the Noble Quran.   The Final Message makes it clear that deeds will be presented to The Almighty of the Day of Judgement.  The Books of Record are Illiyin and Sijjin for the righteous and unrighteous, respectively.   And the recording angels (karaman katibeen) are constantly writing our deeds.  Our deeds will be presented to Allah on the Day of Judgement for our own amal to testify before us, making it impossible for us to refute the facts about our own selves.  It's not for informing Allah.   HE already knows our deeds even before we perform them, and He is watching our deeds every day, every second.  "and He is with you wheresoever you may be. And Allah is Seer of what you do."  57:4  Al-Hadid.   Illiyin and Sijjin are for our information.  And we will have to stand before Allah after passing into the next world on the Day of Judgement, not on Mondays, Thursdays or in the month of Shaban while we are still in this temporary dunya
