Reflections on the Noble Quran

Always being interested in studying and reflecting on nature, I was reading a lengthy online article on rain clouds titled "Cloud Cover."  Rain clouds are also  called stratus clouds.  The article while describing rain clouds read:  "Stratus clouds are layered and cover most of the sky. When stratus clouds are very thick, they become dark nimbostratus (layered and gray) clouds, which can produce rain, drizzle or snow."

And then a few days later when I was reading Surah An-Nur, I came across Verse 43, and I said to myself  "I just read this information in a general science website,"  the only difference being, the Noble Quran gave the same information almost 1500 years ago.

"Have you not seen how Allah wafts the clouds, then gathers them, then makes them layers, and you see the rain come forth from between them; He sends down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smites therewith whom He will, and averts it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatches away the sight."  (24:43)

Alhumdulilah ,, what a fabulous piece to reflect upon!  honestly ..     This should set anyone with a shred of conscience, rationale and decency into deep thinking and returning to the Quran alone.   The truth and authenticity of the Noble Quran is elucidated from start to finish in this great Book.  Unfortunately, humans are too distracted with other useless works and thus they seem to have no time to ponder upon this lovely Book.  But they will realise their mistake and incorrect priorities as soon as their souls drift away to the next world.

SubhanAllah, beautiful !!

This Verse is gorgeous.  It reflects scientifically as well as metaphorically.

Metaphorically speaking, it may allude to frozen clouds which have been called mountains in the heavens metaphorically.

Scientifically, it may also mean the mountains of the earth which stand high in the heavens and whose snow-capped peaks cause condensation in the clouds which results in hailstorms.    Yes, mountains effect winds and clouds, and mountains do make clouds.  Mountains cause air to rise.  As the wind blows across a mountain range, the air cools and clouds tend to form on the windward side. This is why windward sides of mountain ranges tend to get heavy precipitation. Whenever the air rises, water vapor condenses forming clouds.     At a specific temperature the air can't hold all the water vapor that it has.  So if warm moist air is blown towards a mountain, it will rise to get over the mountain. The warm moist air will cool, and if it cools to the dew point, clouds form. That's why  mountains often have clouds near them.

So true and helpful your explanation Sister Zeynab.   Indeed a gorgeous Verse.

Right Sister Ruhi.  What you mentioned brings to mind Verse 39:67 (Surah Az-Zumar) where Allah says "wama qadru Allaha haqqa qadrihi wal-ardu jamian qabzatahu yawma al-qiyamati."  Which means, "And they esteem not Allah as He hath the right to be esteemed, when the whole earth is His handful on the Day of Resurrection, ..."

......... Verse 39:67 (Surah Az-Zumar) where Allah says "wama qadru Allaha haqqa qadrihi wal-ardu jamian qabzatahu yawma al-qiyamati."  Which means, "And they esteem not Allah as He hath the right to be esteemed, when the whole earth is His handful on the Day of Resurrection, ..."

MashAllah, again so true.  Very appropriate Verse to quote.   Isn't this exactly the case at present as it was in the past.  People just cannot perceive the Strength and Perfection of Allah, and that's the starting point from where they begin deviating.

Another beauty of Verse 39:67, as in many Verses, Allah mentions future events as already achieved.  Thus this Verse states "when the whole earth is His handful on the Day of Resurrection," ....  It's a future event but Allah mentions it in the present tense, because in the Sight of Allah time is naught and He knows every bit of the future.

This thread is so full of knowledge.   May Allah bless all of you, ameen.

Allah is the Light of the entire universe, but His Light can be perceived and comprehended by the righteous, the believers only.   The laggards fumble in the dark as their vision is too weak to be able to see this Dazzling Light .. those who haven't grasped His Guidance can never perceive His Light.

To discern the Light and boundless Power of Allah, people need to open the eyes of their heart.  But if the eyes of the heart are blind and a person is only looking around through those physical eyes beneath their forehead, that's a limitation as their capabilities get restricted within the physical world only.   They can study and understand the contents of physics, biology, zoology and many other sciences, but they fail to perceive the role of Allah Almighty behind all of these branches of knowledge.    So, it never occurs to them to ask themselves WHO created the contents of those sciences which they so ardently study and boast about?

I couldn't agree more with your articulation Sister Heba.  Unfortunately this is precisely the problem which has locked up the human mind and made it a prisoner of its own stupidity.
