From the land of the bones

Brother Shabir is one of the few well-read and rational Muslim scholars.  I've always observed that he is clearly very uncomfortable with the stupidity & crudeness of Hadith.  But he has to handle it diplomatically so as not to antagonize the mainsteam.  From this brief video clip of one of his lectures, he has made it obvious that he does not agree with the Hadith ruling to ban painting pictures.

Very well said by brother Shabir.  And u r so correct sister, he is awfully uncomfortable with the hadith nonsense and I feel sorry for him for trying to pretend otherwise for the sake of keeping his job.  He must be feeling stifled.

Regarding prohibition on painting/drawing pictures, the rubbish compiled in Bukhari etc. hadiths are mind boggling.  Worst of all, this idiot Bukhari and his cronies write these hilarious lies and use the name of the Prophet (S) to have them accepted.  This attitude is absolutely reprehensible, even worse than the false content itself.

Check out this link.  Please keep in mind, the name of the Prophet (S) is falsely used.  Nothing there are the sayings of the Prophet.

This hadith is a copycat of old testament. Musa's ummah is not allowed to do any kind of drawing and statue of anything that move above and below the land. (Maybe the aftermath of they worshipping the golden-cow  Roll Eyes)

Yes .. that could be so.   Many ahadith have cropped up from the laws of the old & new testaments.
