Angels and prophets are NOT to be worshiped (Surah Al-Imraan)

Reflections on the Noble Quran

"And he commanded you not that ye should take the angels and the prophets for lords. Would he command you to disbelieve after ye had surrendered (to Allah) ?"   (3:80)

To worship the angels or prophets is completely HARAM for a Muslim.  In the above verse of Surah Al-Imraan, Allah Almighty confirms that NO prophet ever told their people to worship them nor did they ever tell them to worship the angels. 
 
The fundamental principle of Islam is that no human being chosen by Allah as a prophet or messenger has the right to say to others: “You should obey me rather than Allah” and neither did any prophet ever say that.  The reference here could be taken as to the Christians who have made false stories about Essa son of Maryam claiming that he should be worshiped.  Instead, what all prophets said was: “You should be amongst those who belong to Allah by following His Book which you study and teach to others.” 

Also, NO prophet ever said to their people to worship the angels instead of Allah.  No prophet will ever say such things and resort to kufr after submitting to Allah.
