Not paranormal.  But beautiful, Alhumdulilah.

Northern Lights (also known as 'aurora borealis') is seen only from the Northern Hemisphere.  It occurs most often during September/October and March/April.  It's southern counterpart known as aurora australis, has similar properties. Australis is the Latin word for "of the South".
It's a very ancient phenomena linked with numerous medieavel stories.
Aurora borealis is named after the Roman goddess of the dawn, Aurora, and the Greek name for north wind, Boreas.  In Europe, it often appears as a reddish glow on the northern horizon, as if the sun were rising from an unusual direction. The aurora borealis is also called the Northern lights since it is only visible in the North sky from the Northern Hemisphere.
This light is a remarkable display of nature.  Praise be to Allah!  It's caused by magnetic particles in the Earth's upper atmosphere.  When these particles collide with the atoms of gases in the atmosphere, it releases energy in the form of light.  The light appears as a greenish glow in the lower altitudes and a dark-red glow slightly higher.

Alhamdulilah, what a wonderful spectacle!  absolutely breath-taking.

The link was also very educational.  I had heard so much about the northern lights but didn't really know what it was.

Thanks for putting this up zeynab.
