The Quran confirms that every earthly growth has male and female

"And thou (Muhammad) seest the earth barren, but when We send down water thereon, it doth thrill and swell and put forth every lovely kind (of growth)."  (22:5)

"Glory be to Him Who created all the sexual pairs, of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves, and of that which they know not!"  (36:36)  Surah Ya-Sin

This is truly amazing.  Praise be to Allah alone.  Please read the above verses and concentrate on the underlined words.  A casual reader might not reflect, but I request you to stop and ponder as you read.  The depth of its meaning is absolutely awesome!  Expressions carrying such accurate information coming in the 7th century, indeed can be from none else but Allah, The Exalted.

The expression "every lovely kind" (also, 'every lovely pair' which occurs often in the Quran) and the expression "sexual pairs" with reference to the earth's growth have a deeply scientific connotation that has been studied in detail and proven for its correctness only within the last one hundred years or less.  It's important to be focused on the subtlety and wealth of meaning on every expression used in the Glorious Quran concerning natural phenomena.  The word "pair" occurs often in the sense of species, commemorating the fact that every growth of earth exists as male and female.

This has presently been proven and highlighted by modern science and research.  The characteristics of all living organisms are highly organized, from the smallest part to the largest.  On the chemical level, atoms make up elements. Each element has a specific number of electrons that orbit the nucleus. In the center of the element, the nucleus has protons and neutrons. Etc. etc.  In more complex organisims, cells are organized into tissues.  Just as all living organisms have the ability to acquire energy, the ability to respond to an environment and the ability to adapt, similarly all living organisms also have the ability to reproduce.  The amazing diversity of organisms on earth have resulted because most organisms reproduce sexually, that is, they have separate genders - male and female.  For example, plants have male and female parts.  The male part of a plant is called the stamen and the female part is called the pistil. 

This topic can be very detailed, but I won't go into all of that.  My purpose was only to bring to light the basic information.

Researchers and students of this field of science will surely follow the accuracy of the Quran as the earliest foundation of this fact even more clearly than a common person.

The Noble Quran has shown us proof after proof of the spectacular Greatness of Allah, yet humans are such snobbish morons adamant to ruin their own souls that they just won't believe.  This topic is another one of the exquisite ones of the Noble Quran.  You are so correct that there is a wealth of meaning on every expression used in the Glorious Quran particularly concerning natural phenomena.  But not even 5% of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are focused on it either because of their distraction caused by the Hadith & fatwas or because of becoming secularists.  I'm sure not even 1% of the world's total Muslim population are even aware of this aspect which has been highlighted in this post.  As I always say, any surprise why the wrath of Allah is on this Ummah?
