Salaam and hi folks!  This might sound easy but I really don't know how to prepare it.  Can anyone give an idea how to make home-made whipping cream for decorating / topping desserts or cakes?

Yeah sis, sure.  I've made it several times and it's turned out great.

Pour your heavy cream into the bowl.  Add a little icing sugar and a drop of vanilla essence.   Then whip until desired consistency is acquired.  Or, you can add the sugar and vanilla a little later, after you've started whipping it for a few minutes and it looks foamy. Remember to watch how far you whip.  Take care not to overdo it.  If you beat the cream too long, it will start to fall apart and and turn into butter.  Whip only until you get the stiff peaks formed.  Then refrigerate for a while to cool and it's ready to be used as dessert topping Smiley

Also, I prefer to freeze both the bowl and the beater before whipping the cream in it / with it.  The cold helps to whip up faster.

As a stablizer, sometimes unflavored gelatine is also used.  A little gelatine powder can be dissolved in a small quantity of water and mixed with the cream.  However, those living in the West must take care to buy Halal gelatine.  For this reason, I don't use gelatine for it's hard to find Halal gelatine here.

Can be whipped with electric beater or by hand.  By hand can be a bit cumbersome but can easily be done, nonetheless.  Use a wire whisk beater.

After being whipped, the cream increases in volume .... gets almost double.

The following website gives a very nice step-by-step demonstration.  You'll find it helpful.

Thanks a lot sister.  As usual, so helpful.  Just need to keep a balance between keeping it creamy and prevent it from getting buttery.
