Meyerling incident - murder of passion by a "pedophile"

While going through the annals of history, I was recently reading the Meyerling incident of Austria that took place in the late 1800s.   A couple of points caught my attention and I thought of putting them up here. 

It's about the 30-year-old eccentric Austrian crown prince named Rudolf.  He was the only son of his father, emperor Franz, of Austria.  Although the crown prince was married with a child, he had a mistress named Mary who was the daughter of a man attached to the emperor's court. After a while the parents of the crown prince turned against this relationship and wanted him to end it.  That upset the son.  Then, some day on January of 1889, the crown prince Rudolf went to his hunting lodge at a place called Mayerling in Austria along with his mistress, Mary. He was also accompanied by his valet and a hunting companion.  The next morning when they didn't hear from the couple for a long time, the valet and the hunting companion finally had to break open their bedroom door to find the couple shot dead.  In a typical frenzy of madness of an upset lover, he had shot her first and then himself.  First a false rumor spread that he died because of a blood blockage of an artery in the heart (or aneurism).  But that sounded too absurd.  No one believed it.   And the question remained, how did his mistress die too?  

After a closer examination, the truth was officially disclosed but very silently. It was announced that Rudolf had first shot his mistress who was asleep and then after a while shot himself.  The cause was his sadness for not being allowed to marry Mary.  But the official version propagated the story as a "suicide pact" although there was never any evidence of that.  Thus, again, it's silently but commonly known as "the Meyerling murder-suicide incident" .. not "suicide pact." 

This incident was NO suicide pact.  Mary, the mistress, was never known to have confessed any desires of killing herself for her lover's sake even though reportedly she was seriously in love.   There is no evidence that the prince shot her with her permission on the understanding that he will shoot himself too later.  It's very, very unlikely she would have given him the permission to do that.  What Europe is conveniently silent about is that the prince was foolishly romantic, possessive and emotionally unstable.  When he realized that his parents would never allow him to divorce his wife and marry his mistress, he was not just upset but he also couldn't bear the thought of his mistress going about her life without him and marrying someone else.  Thus, committing suicide was not enough for him. He had to kill her too - a murder of passion.

Furthermore, Rudolf was strange sort of madman.  He was infatuated with the idea of dying together with a companion.  Prior to planning the murder-suicide with Mary Vestera, he was simultaneously having an affair with another lady working in the movies named Mizzi Kaspar. He tried to persuade her to agree to a suicide pact and die with him but she was horrified at the idea and flatly refused.  Not just that but she also informed the police.  However, the police couldn't take action because of Rudolf's social and official position.  After he failed to persuade Mizzi Kaspar, he began working on Mary on a murder-suicide pact. 

Rudolf was 30 and she was 17 at the time.  Apart from being guilty of a murder of passion, according to the current European and North American laws, Rudolf was also a "pedophile" for having an intimate relationship with woman below 18.  The fact that Mary Vestera was under 18 is another embarrassment for modern European historians. For that reason they have changed some aspects of the story.  The truth is that Rudolf and Mary had a 3-year affair.  This means that when the affair began, Mary was 14.  To hide this fact, official reports claim they only had a 6-month relationship when Mary was 17.   Not true.

Interesting, very very interesting    Well yes, the West has itself constructed this law that if a 17-year-old boy marries a 17-year-old girl, it's fine.  But if an 18-year-old boy marries a 17-year-old girl, the boy becomes a "pedophile."   Ha ha!  As illogical as it is, in accordance to it, poor Rudolf was a "pedophile" and a real angry lover who couldn't stand the thought of his mistress in the arms of another man.   From the photo she looks less than 17.  No male or female, particularly at that age would ever think of suicide for the sake of their lover.     If he had disclosed his suicide-murder plan to her, she would have been horrified.  She would have perhaps told him to go ahead blow his own head off but not hers, lol.   Btw, did you also see the Meyerling movie.   As far as I know, quite a few Meryerling movies have been made, but not recently.  The most recent one was probably made sometime in the mid to late 1960s.   I only saw some scenes of this latest version on youtube.   In that movie it was shown that he shot her dead while she was asleep, then he shot himself and there was no talk between them of a "suicide pact."

Yeah, I recall I saw 2 versions of this movie about 3 or 4 years ago on TV .. the at&t channel used to show many old movies.  First I saw the color version which was I think the 1960s one and then the black & white version which was much older, probably a 1930s or 40s production.  And yeah, it was pure murder and then suicide.  If Rudolf lived, he would have been in jail for his stupid 'romeo & juliet' kinda theatrics.    I also read this story in a few websites.  The grief of his parents was not so much for losing him, but their son's death meant that the line of inheritance of the thrown would pass on to the emperor's brother because Rudolf was the emperor's only son and his child (emperor's grandchild) was a daughter.  In those days girls couldn't become queen in Europe.

Good one sister Ruhi.  Let the world know the truth.  If such an incident had taken place in Islamic history, these people would have trumpeted it as "honor killing and pedophile."  But just because it was one of their arrogant and debauched princes, so it becomes a great soap and numerous movies and ballets are made on it.  Moreover, Europe and America are never interested in people who have lived happy lives in accordance to the rules of ethics.  They are always interested in the lowly side of peoples' lives, when people are made famous or celibrities on account of their shaytaani.   Righteousness is always propagated negatively in the West.   

Sister Heba is right, I think the mistress looks less than 17.  I think she was less.  Some historical sources say that she met him 3 months before they both died.  Another version says she met the guy 3 years prior to their death, that means they had a 3-year affair.  Therefore, she was 14 at the time she met him and started an affair.  Also, he looks quite a bit more than 30 in that photo.  At a glance, I would say around 40.  As usual, history of the West is always shrouded in mystery .. every sphere of history.  Just as they changed the Bible, they keep changing every bit of their history and paint it the way they like.  Although all evidence points that Rudolf shot his mistress and then himself, other nonsensical stories of their death are also floating around.  It's also said that this lady, Mary Vetsera, was not his only lover.  He was having affairs with several other ladies as well and had suggested a "suicide pact" to one of his other lovers who laughed it off as a joke.  This prince was obviously a madman.  His parents should be thankful that he killed himself and not them for he was a complete lunatic.
