Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth because the Garden will be theirs: they shall fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. It is a promise which is binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant better than Allah? Rejoice then in your bargain that ye have made, for that is the supreme triumph.9:111

Walaikum Salaam.  Thank you very much dear sister Muslima.   I too like it very much.  Even if one is living in Muslim countries, it's still very convenient.

JazekAllah khair.  Allah bless.

Salams to all
Yes modern technology is extremely helpful in so many ways. But I still prefer that my brains should be programmed in such a way that no matter where ever I may be it boots me up for my prayers. When I go to sleep I give a command to myself that I got to wake up at 4:00 am for Fajr prayers and it never failed me Alhamdulillah and very often I felt that someone is shaking my big toe and when I got up and looked at the watch it would be just 4:00 4:10 therefore I will rely upon the magnificent computer which Allah Almighty has very graciously placed in every human being it is simply the way how one programs it.
Peace

Good one sister Muslima, thank you.  Very interesting.   Allah bless.

I agree with you brother Abbottonian.  Once a believer develops a commitment to their prayers, the periodical reminder comes automatically 5 times a day at the approximate timings.  May Allah reward you for your awareness of this most important duty.

Keeping track of time sometimes gets confusing if it's a cloudy day and you don't have a clock around.  At such times I've sometimes thought I'm late for my Dohr or Asr or Maghrib prayers, but when I check the clock I've found the time is right or sometimes a bit too early.  At present I follow the timings from the prayer calender.

I think the digital reminders are especially helpful for elderly people when their memory gets weak and they sometimes have problem remembering.  My mother is very regular with all her 5 prayers.  Though her memory is still fine at age 74, Alhumdulilah, she does tend to have memory lapses when she is under stress or worried.  I think the mobile download would be suitable for her.  I also agree with sister Muslima that even in Muslim countries the Adhan software would be useful as not all neighborhoods have masjids close to them and the Adhan is barely heard in many residences.

Yes sis Heba I used to have 5 alarms set for prayers timings in my mobile phone when I used to travel a lot my daily average was 500 km and at the alarm I will stop on road side and offer my prayers Alhamdulillah I always had a prayer mat in my car and if I did not find a Masjid I will pray on the sand.I was working in a Persian Gulf State and not long ago prayer mats are available with a built in compass showing the direction of Ka'aba.Alhamdulillah some intelligent Muslims are developing very productive Islamic software.
May Allah reward them for their achievements in modern technology.
