It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

 BismEm

During our daily family Quran-study session yesterday, my eldest daughter asked us who were the believing persons Allah Almighty mentions about in Verses 13 to 32 of Chapter 36, Surah Ya Sin.  This is a perceptive question and deeds to be discussed.

If you please open up your Quran copies to Surah Ya Sin and start reading after the first ruku from Verse 13 and continue reading up to Verse 32 (also quoted at the end of this post), you will find a narration about two men (probably Prophets) who were sent to their community to deliver the Message of Allah to the people by inviting them to the Monotheistic Faith (Tawheed).  But their people denied them.  Then Allah Almighty strengthened the two men by sending a third person to join them, calling the community to Faith.  Yet their people rejected them.  They accused the three persons sent by Allah Almighty to be liars, and threatened to torture and stone them if they didn't stop requesting the township to embrace belief in One God (Tawheed).  Then there came a man from the same city, rushing to the people of this township.  He implored them to believe and to follow the three men sent by Allah.  This man was rightly guided, in that, he had been given guidance by Allah for some merit that made him worthy in Allah's Sight.  This man rejected all false gods and put his Faith in Allah Almighty only.  In Verse 27, he expresses his gratitude for being privileged and receiving forgiveness from Allah.  Allah Almighty mentions in V.36:26 that this man was granted Paradise because of his insightful obedience to the Divine Message.  Quoting Verses 26 and 27 of Surah Ya Sin, "It was said (unto him): Enter paradise. He said: Would that my people knew With what (munificence) my Rab hath pardoned me and made me of the honoured ones!" Some tafsir writers including Maududi have opined that this refers to the killing of the believing man by those who were disbelieving; thus Allah mentions that he was granted Paradise and the man thanks Allah for forgiveness and guidance.  This opinion might be correct.   Later on, the rest of this community was destroyed and made extinct on account of their gross disobedience over rejecting Allah's Message.

The main purpose of narrating this historical fact is to confirm that it's always been inherent of majority of humans to reject Allah's messengers, confirmed in Verse 30.

Now if you ask, who were those three men whom Allah Almighty sent to call the people of their community to believe?  Who was the fourth man who came running to the people requesting them to believe in the three men sent by Allah?  Were those three men Prophets and Messengers?  Which community was this?  How did Allah destroy the disobedient ones of this community?

It's very likely that those three men were Prophets and Messengers but their names have not been stated in the Quran.  In fact Verse 30 can be taken as an evidence that they were Messengers where Allah states with reference to this event and many others, "Never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him!"  Therefore they can be included among those messengers whose names have not been disclosed in the Noble Quran.  The fourth man who came forward declaring his belief was apparently a common dweller of the township, an exception and different from the rest.  But details of his identity are not mentioned either.  We only know that Allah Almighty did destroy the disobedient ones of this land but He has not stated when and how.  As mentioned in Verses 28 and 29 of Surah Ya Sin, Allah did not show these people His portents by sending "a host from heaven."  But the punishment came suddenly which Allah describes as "one Shout" and the community was annihilated.

In Verses 31 and 32 of Surah Ya Sin, Allah Almighty sums up the historial fact that similarly many generations were destroyed for their arrogance and disobedience who rejected His Message.  Once destroyed, there is no coming back again.  However, each one will appear before HIM on the Day of Judgment to answer HIS questions.  That is certain Truth.

Please also note, this narration is an example in the Noble Quran where the identity of the persons have not been disclosed even though it's an important narration with a vital lesson.  Similarly, as we keep moving with our daily readings of the Noble Quran each day, we will come across some other narrations as well that do not contain the identities of the people mentioned.  Therefore we must not try to guess who they were or what their names were. Neither should you borrow the guesswork of the Old & New Testaments to try to explain whatever Allah Almighty has chosen not to disclose in the Quran.  That would be a very risky and incorrect path to follow since we know that the Bibles are fully altered, man-written and filled with ridiculous falsehoods.  For the same reason, NO Hadith stories to be taken to draw conclusions of unidentified  persons or communities in the Noble Quran.  If Allah's wish is to keep something concealed, we must respect it and go no further.

For reference of readers, Verses 13 to 32 of Surah Ya Sin are quoted below:

13. Coin for them a similitude: The people of the city when those sent (from Allah) came unto them;

14. When We sent unto them twain, and they denied them both, so We reinforced them with a third, and they said: Lo! we have been sent unto you.

15. They said: Ye are but mortals like unto us. The Beneficent hath naught revealed. Ye do but lie!

16. They answered: Our Lord knoweth that we are indeed sent unto you,

17. And our duty is but plain conveyance (of the message).

18. (The people of the city) said: We augur ill of you. If ye desist not, we shall surely stone you, and grievous torture will befall you at our hands.

19. They said: Your evil augury be with you! Is it because ye are reminded (of the truth) ? Nay, but ye are froward folk!

20. And there came from the uttermost part of the city a man running. He cried: O my people! Follow those who have been sent!

21. Follow those who ask of you no fee, and who are rightly guided.

22. For what cause should I not serve Him Who hath created me, and unto Whom ye will be brought back ?

23. Shall I take (other) gods in place of Him when, if the Beneficent should wish me any harm, their intercession will avail me naught, nor can they save ?

24. Then truly I should be in error manifest.

25. Lo! I have believed in your Lord, so hear me!

26. It was said (unto him): Enter paradise. He said: Would that my people knew

27. With what (munificence) my Lord hath pardoned me and made me of the honoured ones!

28. We sent not down against his people after him a host from heaven, nor do We ever send.

29. It was but one Shout, and lo! they were extinct.

30. Ah, the anguish for the bondmen! Never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him!

31. Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which indeed returned not unto them;

32. But all, without exception, will be brought before Us.

Thank you Sister.  I have also come across quite a few narrations where the status of certain individuals have not been revealed.  I'm glad you brought this up.  Your daughter is very intelligent to observe this point.  I'm sure she too will find your input very helpful.  As you very well and rightly stated, if it's Allah's will not to mention something to us, we must leave it there and not try to dig it up which will not result in speculations and non-confirmed opinions.

As usual Hadith did poke its nose by borrowing information from the altered Bibles.  I specifically read about this narration in Maududi's tafsir.  Conspirators like Qatadah, Ikrimah and Kab Ahbar (who is a noted cheat, a former Jew of Yemen and a friend of Abu Huraira) claimed that  this community was the Syrian city of Antioch and the three men mentioned here were the ones sent by the Prophet Essa (pbuh) for preaching of his message.  This story was taken by Hadith from one of those versions of the altered Bibles which is noted for it's unauthenticity and baseless stories.  Maududi has himself stated this.

Cheesy  Thanks a million brother.  I'll tell her, she'll be flattered.  Actually she helped me with this input .... we wrote it together.  Of course she kept taking her popcorn breaks so maybe I wrote a bit more than her but that's understandable at her age.

O really!?  I'm glad you exposed it.  Beware readers.  Keep the nose pokers at a distance.

Alhumdulilah and SubhanAllah.  That's excellent.  May Allah (Azza wa jal) reward her, and just as much reward you and your husband for much credit goes to parents for their fine teachings.
Ameen!

SubhanAllah, beautiful piece my Sister.   This post conveys an important message, as Sister Heba mentioned, that the Glorious Quran does not cite the identities of historical personalities within all its narrations.  After all, the Quran is a Book of Guidance not history.  The purpose of Quranic narrations is to convey moral lessons and reminders only.  This can also be done without defining the names and particulars of many people.

Many thanks Sister Heba.

BTW, another example is in Surah Al-Momin (Chapter 40), Verses 28 to 45 which is about a believing man in the household of Pharaoh and how he warned everyone not to reject the invitation of Prophet Moses to embrace Tawheed.  Allah Almighty has not mentioned any details about the identity of this person, except that he belonged  to Pharaoh's household.
