Reflections on the Quraan

Unthinking minds often grumble, asking themselves and others, why a secularist, atheist or polytheist enjoys greater comfort, wealth & happiness in life than those who humbly believe and follow the dictates of the Almighty Allah.  Let's not forget that Allah has not made it impossible for disbelievers to acquire earthly success.  Thus, it isn't at all unusual for disbelievers who work hard for worldly gains to find attractive fortune, promotion, wealth and luxury in this physical & materialistic world.  But such earthly feats are no indications of finding salvation and acceptance from Allah in the Hereafter.  The success and happiness granted by Allah to anyone in this world is a temporary phase, nothing beyond a test in the deeper sense.  By itself, it carries no weight in the next world, unless it's accompanied with a firm belief in Him and a conscientious mind.

"Let not the vicissitude (of the success) of those who disbelieve, in the land, deceive thee (O Muhammad).

It is but a brief comfort. And afterward their habitation will be hell, an ill abode."
(3:196-197)  Al-Imran
