November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

A brief and sensible contribution on Hadith analysis by a writer named Mona at Islam4women.org website.  The discussion originated after a Lebanese imam, Imam Chehab Khadr, living in Helsinki (Finland) declared that  little girls as young as 9 could be given in marriage with parental consent.  A purely Hadith law, it flatly overrules the Quranic concept of marriage which clearly underscores the necessity of mental maturity in a married woman.

Below is the essential excerpt from the above mentioned site for readers' information.

Quote:

About the Prophet’s young wife Aisha, the Hadith suggests that she was married to him at the age 6 yrs.  By Hadiths  of which I am very critical about, they were collected as late 250-300 years after the death of the Prophet (p.b.u.H.).   From 600,000 stories  Bukhari selected 7,397 based on their truthfulness.

Truthfulness? How can a lengthy recitation transmitted by word of mouth over half a dozen generations be truthful in every single word? Human mind is not a computer, it can err with the best of intentions.

Prophet Mohammad discouraged in his lifetime writing down these stories in fear they would be confused with the Quran itself.  Well, yes, it looks like it happened after all.

There are several surviving written document from the lifetime of the Prophet from which we can reconstruct the events and we find that Aisha was in her late teens, probably early twenties when marrying as it happened in Medina after the Hijjra (emigration).

Most Iranians, half of the Iraqis, Persian Gulf Emirates, part of Saudi Arabia, and Southern Lebanon still hold on to this practice and what disturbs me most is that the media and especially the internet is full of hate speech regarding this matter and Islam is regularly called a “Pedophile Religion”.   Opponents are using a very powerful image,  and it is working.

One of my favorite quotes is from the late  Dr. Lila Fahlman,  founder of the Canadian Council of Muslim Women (CCMW):   “Man-written Hadith’s have ruined Islam.“

I am trying my very best to shake up and wake up the Muslims themselves into critical thinking.  It is our duty to try to change things we think are wrong, and at the same time trying to build bridges.

There is no other way.

Unquote:

The Noble Quran categorically refutes any ideas of child marriage. This notion has crept into the Muslim society through the man-written and heavily manipulated Hadith literature, borrowed from the era of the heathens.

An example from the Quran:

"Prove orphans till they reach the marriageable age; then, if ye find them of sound judgment, deliver over unto them their fortune; and devour it not by squandering and in haste ..." (4:6) Noble Quran.

Mark the words, "marriageable age" and "sound judgment." The allusion is very clearly adulthood. Can a 9-year-old or 12-year-old be perceived as having "sound judgment" and capable of handling their inheritance?  A hadithist might claim it only refers to male orphans.  But I ask, where is the evidence for that ??  The Quran allows the adoption of both male and female children.  If the adopted orphan (male or female) has inherited assets from their deceased parents, the guardian must preserve it very carefully until the child comes of age when their assets should be handed over to them. If the orphan (male or female) is poor, then the guardian should bestow on them whatever he can afford when they reach adulthood (or marriageable age) as Verse 4:6 expresses.  Both male and female need their share of money at the time of marriage.  Though dowry comes entirely from the man, the woman always desires to carry her share of money as her personal possession.  Repeating the importance of Verse 4:6, it connects the age of marriage with adulthood not childhood.

There are several verses in the Quran that refer to husband/wife relations and their practical duties as righteous spouses.  In all such verses, the allusion to the wife is that of a matured woman.  Nowhere does the Quran refer to a child-wife or an underage wife of six or nine or twelve.

Many, many thanks Sister, for the additional post on this topic.  Great info and the truth.  That quote of Dr. Lila Fahlman is also right on!   I say that too, all the time.  If you look at the photo of that Lebanese imam on that link, he looks more like an orthodox Christian priest than a Muslim.  These mega crazy Hadithists will also have to explain to Allah from where they got the idea that piety comes with a cap, beard and robe.  Of course they got it from Christianity.  Christian priests and bishops wear robes of different colors with different decorations depending on their official clerical position.  They think piety comes with the number of medals you have on your robe.   One can be 100% sure that the Prophet (pbuh) wore the regular traditional clothes of his society, that is, the Arabian abaya of those days and the regular Arabian men's head cover which everyone wore mainly to protect oneself from the sun and heat.

I don't know how these mega goats who call themselves imams can't discern that this issue of kid marriage comes from a bunch of utterly false hadiths and needs to be flushed down the toilet right away.  This is a pre-Islamic, pagan custom which is still practiced in India.  Of course the entire Hadith institution is a big collection of forgery, but particularly this one is so obnoxious and thoroughly impractical, it should give a jolt even to the most rigid of traditionalists.
