Do not try to confirm the allegorical Verses of the Noble Quran (Al-Imraan)

May 30, 2019, 06:15:49 am Zeynab: Alhudulilah, yes sister Ruhi.  Time flies in this fleeting world.  May Allah The Almighty accept our hard work in the permanent world.  That's the real success.

"He it is Who has revealed unto you (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - they are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knows its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Rab; but only men of understanding really heed."  (3:7).

There are some Verses in the Noble Quran which briefly refer to some past historical incident or occurrence for the purpose of learning a lesson for the future or read as an analogy.

"Allegorical" means a story with a meaning other than the literal one.  Or, description of one thing under image of another.

Such Verses might be interpreted in different ways by different people, as they understand it.  However for all such Verses, as Allah has confirmed in Verse 3:7, only HE knows the final interpretation.  Therefore we must keep our differing opinions to ourselves.  We are not entitled to confirm as a universally accepted interpretation as most of our ulemas try to do by falsely linking commentaries of Quranic Verses with the unauthentic Ahadith.

For more information also view our post "Can there be a universal tafsir of the Quran?"

Oh!  Thanks Sis Ruhi, for adding Verse 3:7 which is actually a part of the previous post you have already linked.  Somehow, I missed this Verse there.  The entire info is a vital reminder as we always find  our ulemas exercising too much bokhraati and confirming each and every Quranic reference to an incident even when the details aren't mentioned.
