Answering-Islam refutes Quranic statement of 7 atmospheric layers

Let us prove these unschooled and uninformed commoners wrong. 

WikiIslam and Answering-Islam refute Quranic verses 2:29 and 67:3 that assert that there are 7 atmospheric layers.  They claim, quote  "scientists have determined that there are five principal layers in the atmosphere and not seven."   WI and AI are again wrong in a lot of ways.  These fools don't even know that the in the field of science this aspect is presented in quite a variety of ways.  If you gather a dozen different sources of studies on the main atmospheric layers, you will likely find only 2 or 3 in uniformity.  The rest will differ, each one from the other.

But first let me mention the atmospheric layers/zones are definitely 7, including the 3 transition zones which cursory readers overlook more often than not.  Here are the seven complete layers including the thin transition layers or the boundaries between the main denser layers:

1) Troposphere
The troposphere, whose thickness varies with location and season, has an average height of 38,000 feet

2) Tropopause
thin zone of transition between the troposphere and the stratosphere

3) Stratosphere
The next layer, the stratosphere, extends from the tropopause to a height of about 154,000 feet

4) Stratopause
At the height where the stratospheric temperatures stop increasing, there is a thin zone called the stratopause. It represents a transition between the increasing temperatures of the stratosphere and the decreasing temperatures of the mesosphere.

5) Mesosphere
In contrast to the warm upper stratosphere, temperature decreases with altitude in this layer to a minimum near 100C.

6) Mesopause
The last transition zone is the mesopause. This zone marks the end of the temperature decrease within the mesosphere

7) Thermosphere
Within the thermosphere, the temperature remains isothermal to 300,000 feet and then begins to increase with altitude.

The underlined ones are the thin transition zones.  The above is the most precise and comprehensive description - YES .. 7 atmospheric layers.  Obviously these so-called critics don't even know that the atmosphere contains what are known as boundaries of transitional layers.  Study the Atmosphere, its vertical structure and its divisions.

"He it is Who created for you all that is in the earth. Then turned He to the heaven, and fashioned it as seven heavens. And He is knower of all things."  (2:29) Noble Quran.

"Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts ?"  (67:3).Noble Quran.

Wow!  And this was over 1400 years ago.  Only those who are jealous to a boiling point will criticize it and yet at heart they do find it awesome but their third-rate arrogance pushes them to such stinking obduracy.  Burn in your jealousy your kuffar.  It will rehearse your eventual burning in Hellfire, InshAllah.

Different sciences have their own different methods of studying, understanding and presenting this issue.  Some exclude all 3 transitional boundaries (tropopause, stratospause and mesopause)  and mention only 4 atmospheric layers - Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere and Thermosphere.    Some display their study as 6 layers - Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Ionosphere, and Exosphere.  Some sources add the secondary layers too such as ozone layer, homosphere, magnetosphere and another transitional boundary layer called turbopause.  So if you count this up it would be about 9 or 10 layers.   Those who stick with 5 layers name them as troposphere, stratosphere, mesophere, thermosphere and exosphere.  For example check the abundance of variation in the following site:    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atmosphere_of_Earth

Shame on WikiIslam and Answering-Islam's complete lack of knowledge!  You don't even have the ability to understand correctly what you copy & paste from Google.

Very true Sister Heba.  Human study of this topic has a subjective perception and a great deal of peripheral variation. Some sources mention 5 layers, some 7, some 4, depending on their approach and priorities for analysis.  Every write-up is differently arranged with names of additional layers and transitional zones that will sound new and confusing to non-professional readers.  However, probably  all of these sources are correct according to their own different readings as far as the existence of those atmospheric contents are concerned.  The fact that Allah Almighty asserts the atmosphere having 7 layers is definitely the final answer, and only HE knows best which of those layers He perceives as parts of the atmospheric composition which human research has given specific terms as we read. 

But the main and biggest point has been missed by Answering-Islam and WikiIslam, as usual.  Whether the text books say 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 layers isn't the issue here.  The amazing fact is that the Quran confirmed as early as the 7th century, not just the concept of the atmosphere, but that it is composed of layers.  Furthermore, the accuracy of defining the number of layers heightens its awe.  That was an era when no one in this planet had a clue what 'atmosphere' meant, let alone its composition.  If Sam Shamoun & co. lived back then, they would similarly refute it just as they are refuting it now.  The unworthy, doomed to the darkness of ignorance, never change regardless of the era they live in.

That's precisely it.  Every researcher doesn't see it in the same pattern. There are minor differences regarding how they divide the layers in almost all sources.

The problem with these rogues is that they lambast on the basis of hate.  They are seekers of falsehood and distortion, just as they distorted their own scriptures.  Hellfire will settle their account on the Day of the Tryst in the next world.  InshAllah, ameen.
