November 01, 2023, 03:43:43 pm Ruhi_Rose: Yes .. making lots of dua everyday ..... watching those real life video clips, my face feels wet with tears all the time.  May ALLAH grant the best to these wonderful, brave & steadfast martyrs,  Ameen ya Allah.
November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

Quoting the uncanny critters of Answering-Islam:
This is in a passage about night and day. Right after describing the change from day to night, it says that the sun runs on to a resting place for it.  Few translations use instead, "appointed term", though in nearly all other verses where we find قرر as a participle they translate it as a place of settlement or an abode or resting place.

"A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise."  36:37-38.

Unquoting them:

As anyone with half a brain can gauge by reading the above that they are zealously eager to lash out but don't quite know over what and why.

I will analyze this criticism in 4 parts.  Let me first quote my own sources of translations of Verses 36:37-38 of Surah Ya Sin for the immediate reference of readers.

Haleem translation:
"The night is also a sign for them: We strip the daylight from it, and- lo and behold!- they are in darkness."  36:37
"The sun, too, runs its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing."  36:38

Pickthall translation:
"A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness."  36:37
"And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise."  36:38.

Corpus Quran translation:
"And a Sign for them (is) the night.  We withdraw from it the day.  Then behold!  They (are) those in darkness.  36:37
And the sun runs to a term appointed for it.  That (is the) Decree (of) the All-Mighty, the All Knowing."  36:38.

PART I

If you read the paragraph of AI's criticism and if you know even the basics of Arabic, it shouldn't take you long to catch their  blunderous lie involving zero knowledge of Arabic language.  They are interpreting the word "qadr" (قرر ) as settlement or abode or resting place.   Qadr (قرر ) actually means "power."  But Answering-Islam claims that "qadr" used in the Quran as a participle is translated as "abode" or "resting place" or "settlement."  I don't know from where they get such ideas.    Any translator of the Quran must be well versed in advanced Arabic and it's impossible they would ever translate "qadr" as resting place or its equivalent in the Quran.  The works of such a translator would never come close to passing the qualifying line.  Even a student of elementary grade Arabic language would know that "qadr" means power.

The 97th Chapter of the Quran is titled "Al-Qadr." It's translation is Night of Power or Decree.  'Decree' means order, edict or command.  Needless to mention, all of these terms express a very similar understanding.   There is not a single mention of "abode, resting place, settlement" or any similar term in Surah Al Qadr.

Answering-Islam's cursory grasp of simple Arabic grammar gets them more perplexed, heightens their fallacies and results in producing a set of disconnected and garbled expressions they call criticism.  Their above quoted "criticism" is once again a representation of their own lack of clarity of what they actually want to say or prove.

PART II

Verse 36:37 is crystal clear.  It explicates the phenomena of daylight and nightfall which is on account of earth's rotation around its axis.   In Verse 36:38, the sun running into a "resting place" (Pickthall's translation) refers to the life span of the sun.  The same has been translated by Haleem as "determined course." Just like everything on earth and in the solar system, the sun too is not permanent.  God Almighty has created it for a fixed period.  Just as the earth and other planets in the solar system will one day come to an end, so will the sun.  In other words, "resting place, appointed term or determined course" all refer to the Last Day when the sun will be no more.  With the passage of each day, the sun comes closer and closer to its end just as everything else including ourselves.  Whether the translation says "appointed term" or "resting place" or any other similar expression doesn't matter; all convey the same meaning.

Now let me quote Verse 36:37-38 word by word in original Arabic from Corpus Quran and  along side its English translation, which should make the clarification ample clear.   Here we will first analyze the expression "resting place" and then catch Answering-Islam's total confusion when it talks about the term "qadr" connected to Verse 38 of Surah Ya Sin.

"waāyatun And a Sign lahumu for them al-laylu (is) the night
naslakhu  We withdraw min'hu  from it  l-nahāra  the day fa-idhā  Then behold! hum they  muẓ'limūna   (are) those in darkness." (36:37).

"wal-shamsu  And the sun  tajrī runs  limus'taqarrin  to a term appointed  lahā (for it)  dhālika (That)  taqdīru [is the] Decree  l-ʿazīzi  (of) the All-Mighty,  l-ʿalīmi  the All-Knowing."  (36:38).

Pickthall's poetic use of the expression "resting place" is the cause for the Islamophobes to go berserk either with genuine ignorance to apprehend the expression or perhaps intentionally to view it literally and thus use it as an ammunition for substandard criticism.

As you can read above, the Arabic Quranic term used in Verse 36:38 of Surah Ya sin is limus'taqarrin.   Let us compare that expression by looking at some other Verses as well.  The expression literally means to "a term appointed."  A slight variation of the similar Arabic word l-mus'taqaru  as in Verse 75:12 of Surah Al Qiyamah means the "place of rest" or the "(place of) permanence."  Quoting Verse 75:12 "Unto thy Rab is the recourse that day."  Pickthall has translated limus'taqarrin in English using the expression which is probably better suited for translating l-mus'taqaru.   Though very easy for us to follow, and English translations of both limus'taqarrin & l-mus'taqaru to "a term appointed" and "place of rest," respectively carry the same root meaning, Answering-Islam with its small IQ, zero knowledge of Arabic and fractured crusade against the Quran has used this simple and accurate expression as an excuse to stretch its worthless series of condemnations.

Now let's examine Answering-Islam's rants on the word "qadr."   We have already explained the Quranic definition of the term "qadr" in sufficient detail in Part II, so there is no need to reiterate that.  But what does need to be asked is from where did Answering-Islam find the word "qadr" in Verse 36:38 to come up with its tirade as we read in their criticism?  Please read Verse 36:38 again.  This Verse doesn't use the word "qadr."  It mentions the word taqdiru which is translated as Decree by Arabic grammar school of Corpus Quran.  Decree means command, fate or destiny.  Halem translates it as "determined course laid down for it," while Pickthall translates it as "That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise."  Please check the translations I've quoted at the beginning of this post for immediate reference.  Hence what has happened here is that Anwering-Islam has mixed up the outlines of the words qadr and taqdiru in the Arabic alphabets which look similar.   Taqdiru, the 'u' sound comes with the pesh sign (تَقْدِيرُ ).   And al-qadr / qadr, respectively ( قدر)  ( الْقَدْرِ) .

Please give a loud applause to Answering-Islam's spectacular idiocy.

PART III

Answering-islam claims that "Right after describing the change from day to night it says that the sun runs on to a resting place for it."

Again their observation is completely incorrect.  The aspect of day and night referring to the earth's rotation are referred in Verse 36:37.  The sun's life span (as is with all heavenly bodies) is stated in Verse 36:38, in a separate Verse and as a separate phenomenon denoting that just like every other creation in the heavens, the existence of the sun too is temporary.

Answering-Islam won't say why it opposes the Quranic confirmation that the sun has been created for a fixed term.   Or do they wish to believe that the sun and everything in the universe will exist forever?   With their kind of disbelief and guilt, they would wish this earthly world lasts forever, but it will not.

PART  IV

Finally I would also like to add a very logical, eloquent and deeply contemplative commentary by Abu Alaa Maududi on Verses 37 and 38 of Surah 36 (Ya Sin).  Do please read it carefully and with attention and you will understand why disbelievers running Answering-Islam, pagans and atheists are so utterly confounded.

Maududi tafsir V.36:37
The alternation of the night and day also is one of those realities which man does not consider worthy of much attention only because it is a phenomenon of daily occurrence and experience; whereas if he considers how the day passes and how the night falls, and what is the wisdom in the passing of the day and in the falling of the night, he will himself realize that this is an obvious sign of the existence of an All-Powerful and All-Wise Allah and of His being One and only One.

The day cannot pass and the night cannot fall until the sun gets obscured. The great regularity which is found in the alternation of the day and night, was not possible unless the sun and the earth were coordinating according to a particular system. Then the deep relationship which exists between the alternation of the day and night and the other creations on the earth clearly points to the fact that this system has been established deliberately by a Being with perfect wisdom.

The existence on the earth, of the men and animals and vegetation, and even of water and air and different minerals, is in fact, the result of placing the earth at a particular distance from the sun, with the arrangement that the different parts of the earth should go on successively coming before the sun and hiding from it at definite intervals. If the distance of the earth from the sun had been a little longer, or a little shorter, or there had been a perpetual night on one side of it and a perpetual day on the other, or the alternation of the day and night had been much faster or much slower, or sometimes the day had appeared suddenly and sometimes the night without any system, no life could be possible on this planet, and even the form and appearance of the inorganic substances would have been much different from what it is now.   For this reason the arctic circles are virtually inhabitable.  God Almighty has also placed such regions in remote parts of the globe for us to compare and understand.

If hearts and minds are not blind, one can clearly perceive in this system the working of a God ...

If a person regards the concept of the existence of God and His Unity as far removed from reason, he should think for himself and see how much farther removed should it be from reason to ascribe this wonderful creation to many gods, or to think that All this has happened automatically under some deaf and blind law of nature.

When a person who can accept without question these latter unreasonable explanations, only on the basis of conjecture and speculation, says that the existence of a system and wisdom and purpose is not a sufficient proof of the existence of God, it becomes difficult for us to believe whether such a person really feels the need and necessity of a rational proof, sufficient or insufficient in any degree whatever, for accepting any concept of creed in the world.

Maududi's tafsir of V.36:38
"Place of rest" may either mean the place where the sun will ultimately come to a halt, or the time when it will come to a halt. The true meaning of this verse can be determined only when man has attained the full and exact knowledge of the realities of the universe. But man's knowledge is such that it has been changing in every age and what he seems to know today might change tomorrow. The people of ancient times on the basis of their observations of the sun believed that it was moving round the earth. Then after further research and observation the view became that the sun was stationary and all the planets of the solar system were revolving round it. But this theory also did not last long.  Later observations revealed that not only the sun but All the stars also are moving in a particular direction, at speeds of 10 to 100 miles per second. About the sun, the modern astronomers hold the view that it is moving at a speed of 20 kilometres (about 12 miles) per second along with its whole family of the planets.

 Grin Cheesy Grin

You caught them like Colombo brother  Cheesy  These guys are in a rush to talk and just not interested in reflecting even for a moment prior to talking.   If they're asked they'll say "oh we knew "qadr" isn't mentioned in this verse .... and then continue with another crock of bla bla shit.  If they knew it then why didn't they also raise the word "taqdiru" even once?  They got muddled up with the silhouetted appearance of the word "taqdiru" and thought it was "qadr."  These two words have their similarities and yet they are interpreted differently, spelled differently and pronounced very differently.  The word "qadr" is often taken to denote the care or value of something precious in the ethical sense.  Decree is the accurate translation of "taqidiru," that is, destiny or fate.  If the term decree is used as a verb, then it carries the meaning of command or order.  Surah Al-Qadr is so uniquely articulated, Alhumdulilah, that the word "Decree" used in it carries both meanings.  Decree refers to the predestination of people as decided by Allah in accordance with their endeavors, for the year.  And Decree also denotes order or authority of Allah according to which angels descend with the fate or predestination of humans as ordained by HIM.

I read it this morning soon after Fajr but couldn't reply cause had to hurry.  A piece of real painstaking work.

They want to accuse the Quran with the claim that it says the sun goes to sleep at night.  But they are themselves feeling awkward about dishing such a false accusation and a wrong explanation of a very lovely Verse.  It's that apple a day kind of argument.

Scientific information in the Quran has been arranged much in the fill-in-th-blanks mode.  Basic facts have been expressed briefly as a foundation for further human inquiries.  This can only be undertaken by the civilized and erudite lot, NOT the morally squalid fans of Satan working for Answering-Islam.

Many, many thanks Br. TS.  Anyone who cannot understand it now and still keeps hankering after literal interpretations needs a neurosurgeon to operate the crap out of their skull cage.

Apt title and totally illuminative piece that flushed another attempt by Answering-islam of blowing a raspberry down the proverbial toilet.  Don't know what these wild things of AI are sniveling about .. as always trying to paint a false dawn and pull the wool over the eyes of AI fans.  Can't expect anything different from the disciples of Sam Shamoun .. ass never falls too far from the ass tree.

The aspect about Qadr and Taqdir has also been very wisely clarified.  Taqdir specifically denotes fate. Sister rightly stated decree goes with fate, and if the term decree is used as a verb, it refers to the implementation of a Divine command or order. Qadr also largely refers to the recognition of something precious or extraordinary and giving it the respect & care its worth.  Qadr is also the infinite Power of Allah which is the most precious and extraordinary quality in the entire heavens.  The term Decree can be referred to both as a verb and a noun, depending on the information contained in every specific Verse.  The Decree or command is sent down (verb) by Allah for the purpose of implementation on earth as Law (noun).  Or, as Sister mentioned, Divine command or Decree can also be stated as the Divine rule of predestination for earth and its beings.

Other than AI's mischief, the enormity of their confusion is also unveiled.

Many thanks brother and sister
