 BismEm

The following Verse 2:129 is the prayer of Prophet Abraham quoted by Allah Almighty.  Prophet Abraham offered this prayer when he and his son, Prophet Ishmael, "were raising the foundations of the House," (V.2:127), that is, constructing the Holy Kaaba - the first spot in the world for Monotheistic worship in recorded history.

"Our Rabb! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations, and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty, Wise."  (2:129) Al-Baqrah.

In reply to Prophet Abraham's prayer, Allah Almighty says in the Noble Quran:  "Allah verily hath shown grace to the believers by sending unto them a messenger of their own who reciteth unto them His revelations, and causeth them to grow, and teacheth them the Scripture and wisdom; although before (he came to them) they were in flagrant error." (3:164)  Al-Imraan.

Verses 2:127, 2:129 and 3:164 convey two important information to us.  First, the Kaa'ba was built by Prophet Abraham and his son Prophet Ishmael.  Secondly, Prophet Abraham prayed to Allah Almighty to a messenger with His Message to the land of Arabia.  And in Verse 3:164 Allah refers sending His Final Messenger, Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), to Arabia.  This also fulfilled the prayer of Prophet Abraham (pbuh) thousands of years earlier.

All praise be to Allah, The Almighty, The One and Only.

Salams and thank you dear Sis.  Two very useful points confirmed.  Yes, in recorded history the Kaa'ba at Makkah is the first place constructed for Monotheistic worship in our knowledge as we get that info straight from the Noble Quran.  And, Prophet Abraham (pbuh) prayed for sending an indigenous messenger to the Arabians who spoke their language and knew the flaws of their traditions.  Many folks who can't think correctly ask that why Prophet Mohammed pbuh is considered as the first Prophet sent to the Arabian peninsula when Prophets Abraham and Ishmael were there before him?  Well, Prophet Mohammed was the first Prophet who indigenously belonged to the Arabian peninsula, while the Prophets Abraham and his son Ishmael came from outside the Arabian peninsula.

Btw, hope you're feeling better dear Sis.  Your good health is constantly in our prayers.

As-salam Alaiykum and hi my dear folks.  Special dua and good wishes for you my dear dear Sis Zeynab .. Sis sent you a email yesterday.

Very cool post.  Alhumdulilah.  In Verse 3:96/97 the Quran plainly confirms that Kaaba was the first place built for the remembrance and worship of Allah alone.

"Lo! the first Sanctuary appointed for mankind was that at Becca, a blessed place, a guidance to the peoples; Wherein are plain memorials (of Allah's guidance); the place where Abraham stood up to pray; and whosoever entereth it is safe."  (3:96-97).

Jews and Christians often claim the Temple of Jerusalem is the oldest place of worship.  But there is solid evidence that the Kaaba is undeniably much older.

Prophet Abraham pbuh lived some one thousand years before Prophet Moses pbuh.  And Prophet Abraham didn't have any links to Jerusalem.  This was pre-Exodus era.  Allah knows best but most likely at that time the city of Jerusalem didn't even exist and neither was that territory called Jerusalem.  The Christians in their altered Bibles have themselves mentioned that Jerusalem was built by Prophet Solomon about 450 years after Moses (1 Kings 6: 1).  This was the period when the Jews began looking upon Jerusalem as their Qibla for Monotheistic worship.  Construction of the Kaaba is fully confirmed in the Noble Quran that it was built by Abraham and his son Ishmael, who, I repeat, lived approximately one thousand years before Prophet Moses and approximately 1,400 years before Prophet Solomon.  Thus, it is an undisputed fact that the Kaaba was built before the Jewish Qibla and is the oldest place for Monotheistic (Tawheed) worship.

Very useful and explicit step by step analysis, Sister Ruhi.  Thanks.  My kids were asking us this question recently, which is the oldest masjid for Muslims (submitters or Monotheists) in history.  It's definitely the Kaaba.  I will print your post and show it to them.
