November 01, 2023, 03:43:43 pm Ruhi_Rose: Yes .. making lots of dua everyday ..... watching those real life video clips, my face feels wet with tears all the time.  May ALLAH grant the best to these wonderful, brave & steadfast martyrs,  Ameen ya Allah.
November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.
July 29, 2023, 03:02:07 am Zainab_M: Yesterday was Ashura, Muharram 10, 1444 (July 27, 2023).  Read about this very tragic day and details of the world's greatest 7th century revolutionary: WHO WAS HUSSEIN.
June 28, 2023, 09:48:39 am Zainab_M: Walaikum As Salaam.  This was the first Hajj open to all after the pandemic. It was attended by 2.6 million Muslims.

 BismEm

As-salam Alaykum everyone.

To make a long story short, myths about the Black Stone have nothing to do with the Quran.

The Black Stone or Hajarul Aswad ( الحجر الأسود) in Mecca is located on the Kaaba's eastern corner.  It's basically just a relic about which nothing fully authentic is known.  I won't discuss how majority of our brethren unnecessarily rave about the Black stone except that it's very regrettable.

Revering the black stone is completely unwarranted in the Quran. We often see our Muslim pilgrims kissing it or waving at it from a distance.  In accordance with Quranic values and the drawbacks of senseless traditionalism, such practices are plainly unwarranted, rather Haram.

The purpose of the Black Stone is practical, not sentimental nor religious. In front of the Black Stone there was (and probably still is) a line drawn on the ground, meant to serve as a marker so people could keep count of each circumambulation (taw'af) they have completed around the Kaa'ba.  That's the only purpose of the Black Stone.  Everything else you may read or hear are interpolations involving myths and tales that have NO relevance, NO significance in the Quran.  The Quran does NOT even mention of the existence of the Black Stone.  And the Quran certainly does NOT support the sort of traditional practices Muslims perform in regard to the Black Stone.

It's absolutely pathetic to watch Muslim pilgrims jostling one another in the crowd to touch the Black Stone.  Many seem to be wonderstruck each time they pass the Black Stone during their taw'af.  There are reports of some who even think praying on the line marking the Black Stone carries special blessings.   All one can say is that those who nurture such concepts have not understood the Quran at all.  They read the Quran like a parrot without the slightest of understanding, and they take their values from extra-Quranic sources.  What a pity and a shame!

The story about the Prophet (pbuh) kissing the Black Stone is a complete fib from the Hadith.  It does NOT contain an iota of truth for sure.

Another Hadith gossip claims the Black Stone descended from Paradise sometime in the distant past.  Yet another one claims that the Black Stone dates back to the time of Adam and Eve.  Again, nothing but wild guesses.  There is absolutely NO endorsement of any such ideas in the Quran.  There are other traditional myths, the absurdities of which go still farther. Some stories say the Black Stone will come to life on Judgement day and then develop two eyes and a tongue and will testify in favor of those who touched it.   Please fear Allah and absolutely reject these nonsensical fables that are plainly un-Quranic.

Similarly notions on miraculous cures from Zamzam water are also fictions and tall stories of the same category as the Black Stone saga.  No need for details.  In a nutshell, Zamzam water is like any other water.  Miracles come ONLY from ALLAH, not from water or stones etc.

Walaikum As Salam.  Thank you Sister Ruhi.  It's one of the most essential clarifications though it will likely fall on deaf ears.

Additionally, parochial and hostile segments of pigheaded non-Muslim communities have made this mess stickier by weaving supplementary tales for  discrediting Muslims as non-Monotheists, spicing up the existing black stone gossips claiming that Muslims believe the stone was white but turned black over the years after being "absorbed by human sins."  Some non-Muslims grabing the entitlement to speak for misguided Muslims claim the stone is a "meteorite with supernatural powers." Both the traditional folklore of Hadith plus non-Muslim propaganda sagas have created a terribly huge pile of foul smelling garbage that urgently requires to be stuffed into the gutters.

The black stone is just a piece of earthy rock or maybe a meteorite, makes no difference.  But the myths surrounding it from Hadith to misguide people and also the tales from non-Muslims to elevate negative propaganda against the Muslim Faith are the real heap of bullshit.  As correctly stated, the black stone simply serves a practical purpose of marking the start of each tawaf.  That's it; nothing more.  If any one weaves nonsensical tales with kuffari or comical connotations, that has NOTHING to do with Islam.

They say the caretakers of the Kaa'ba do not allow any scientific tests to be carried out on the black stone's particles.  I don't know why they don't.  What would any scientific tests confirm except that it could be a meteorite of a chip of rock sediment of the desert?   And it has to be either one of the two which we accept.  As Muslims we are NOT supposed to profess any other possibilities nor indulge in fantasy storytelling about the supernatural. All such moves are plainly disallowed in the Quran.

I agree, very important clarification but none will heed; and it surely provides tons of fodder to non-Muslims.

One hundred percent correctly perceived Sisters Ruhi and Heba.
