November 01, 2023, 03:38:26 pm Zainab_M: Keep praying, praying a lot for Gaza. It's worse than a prison .. it's a concentration camp.  Children as young as 10 or 11 are having to care for their younger siblings ages 2, 3 and 4 becoz many have lost both parents.  It's a very, very, very tearful situation there.

October 20, 2023, 04:24:44 pm Zainab_M: Right sister Heba.  Gaza hospital bombing has the fingerprints of Israel all over it.  For Israel this is no big crime.  They have done this and much worse many times in the past and intend to do the same and worse many more times in near future.
October 20, 2023, 04:20:20 pm Heba E. Husseyn: Catching Zionist lies isn't hard. Soon after Gaza hospital bombing killing and maiming hundreds, Israel was quick to accuse Islamic Jihad of a misfired rocket.  That didn't sound plausible because IJ does not have such sophisticated bombing devices.  Zionist lie was fully exposed when anglican archbishop of Jerusalem,Hosam Naoum,  said today that 3 or 4 days prior to boming Israel had warned Gaza hospital to evacuate. Yet CIA claims in its flawed analysis that the rocket did not come from Israel.  But conveniently does not explain how Israel could have known 4 days earlier that a "misfired" rocket from IJ was coming.  Yet on the basis of this flawed & bias analysis of CIA, Biden is comforting Israel he believes Israel didn't do that war crimes bombing.

No not my home.  But we're doing up one of our dens on these lines.  We got 2 dens.  The bigger one is for the kids' study with computer, projector, bookshelf etc.  The smaller one at the other end of the same upper floor looks much like this, a corner place. We haven't done much work on it.  My husband wants to do it up for the kids, like a winter common-room where they can get-together, relax and chat the traditional way .... no getting their computers in this room nor the tv set.  All that to be left at the study and living room  Grin

What's your opinion on this idea?

I think the idea is much too wonderful  Cheesy  MashAllah.  But I hope you folks are able to get it ready before winter is over.  Are you gonna start renovating this room now?  Then you plan to spread similar cushions and mattresses?

I'm looking at the pic and wondering .... is that a mattress on the floor?  Cushions of different sizes, prints, look marvelously casual.  A splendid decor because of its simplicity.  Your daughter did a great job finding this sample, she's got super taste!  How far do you intend to copy it?

No big renovation required.  Our entire house was already renovated before we moved in 5 years ago.  So it's in pretty good shape .... floor, walls, ceiling just fine. In fact our walls look better than this as we have ply wood panel all around upto almost 4 feet.  The work will mainly require decoration and minor things like putting small hooks for hanging a few pictures, a couple of larger wall hooks where kids can hang their sweaters.  That's it.  We're aiming at copying it as best as we can  Cheesy   What they have on the floor in the pic looks to me like an old fashioned mattress stuffed with cotton wool kinda thing.  That's one thing I'm not sure where to find.  Or maybe we'll look for a regular thin mattress.  A big collection of assorted cushions won't be hard to find .. from places like walmart, ikea etc.  So yes, InshAllah, we hope to finish it before winter is over.  It stays chilly here until May easy.  Allah Willing, the kids will get to enjoy a few long months starting this season.

MashAllah, everything sounds super to me.  I forgot to emphasize how much I agree with the concept of having a traditional cozy corner at home without the presence of modern technology.  Love that idea.  Mabrook dear sis  Cheesy

Wowie!  Praise be to The Almighty .. this looks adorable.  It seems suitable for summer too provided there is a window somewhere and then there can be some cross-vent through the entrance.

Many thanks Sis Smiley   Yeah, there is a nice window in our den at the corner with sliding double glass cover and netted screen.  But you know, according to this style of decor, the little room is gonna be full of fabrics.  Keeping the window open every day in summer will make the fabrics dusty and all our kids are prone to getting allergic.  Maybe we can keep a small portion of the window open, but intend to place a couple of floor fans for summer.  My husband wants to fix a small air conditioner around June or July.  But I said let's wait and see if fans are enough and how the kids feel in summer.  Otherwise we'll get an a.c. InshAllah.

Yes, very sensible point Sister Heba.  I'm sure, InshAllah, it will be lovely and great idea for traditional get-together of kid siblings in their home.  Allah bless.  Do please email us some images when it's done and the kiddies start enjoying their cozy evenings there.
