 BismEm

As-Salam Alaykum and hey kiddos.   Have you ever read or heard the phrase "learn to love what you have."   Well yeah, that's what this post is about.

As you grow up and integrate with the world, some of you may likely acquire the 'keeping up with the Joneses' kind of attitude.  That's another phrase which means competing with relatives, friends and neighbors over materialistic possessions like plush home, posh car, job at a renowned workplace etc. etc.  ...... you know what I mean, ha?   Beware of such unnecessary competitions.  By all means try for the best in life, but watch the limits so it doesn't deprive you of your humanity.  Watch your ambitions so you don't lose your humility and end up being ungrateful to Allah Almighty Who has already provided you with enough to live a life of contentment.

Remember, peace of mind & heart comes NOT from riches nor boasting over a dazzling home or a fancy car.  It comes from the contentment of heart with whatever Allah has provided you which is much richer in blessings than whatever you may crave for looking at others.

BE GRATEFUL TO HIM AND LEARN TO LOVE WHATEVER HE HAS BESTOWED ON YOU.

May Allah Almighty bless and guide all of you, dear kiddos.

Alhumdulilah and MashAllah ....  Smiley  this is such a precious post dear Sis.  Thanks a bundle.  Indeed contentment helps tremendously to promote happiness based on a strong iman.  It's become such a rare quality in adults, because they aren't taught the beauty of contentment as children.  No matter how much they claim to be happy, they're miserable caught up in a life perpetually competing over materialism.  The pressure it puts on the minds of people is itself mind-wreaking!  and it's the root cause of jealousy, bragging and an overall detestable personality.

As parents, my husband and I are just to eager to instill the virtue of contentment in the hearts & minds of our kids.

Right on Sis Heb.  The overabundance of braggarts is one big reason for suffering the ordeal of detestable personalities.  Unfortunately many wretches just don't know what humility and contentment means.
